The issue is Margarito is not a champ at 154,neither is Pacman, but their both fighting for the TITLE at 150,that's the problem, neither are champ but are fighting for the title at a catchweight!!There are top elite fighters at 154,if pacman is so great, fight them, not a cheater!!

The issue is that he's charging $60 for a second straight tuneup against an undeserving challenger for a vacant paper title at a catchweight. Need more reasons?

Last I heard the fight was supposed to be somewhere in the 150's but not at 154, correct? Now, I can understand those who were upset about Pac's previous bouts being at lower weight than what his opponents were used to fighting at, but hasn't Margarito fought the majority of his career at 147 lb? And before his last fight, against Robert Garcia, wasn't the last time he was at 154 against Daniel Santos back in 2004? Margarito is not fighting below a weight that he hasn't seen in years, he's fighting where he's spent an very large portion of his career and should be comfortable at the weight. If anything, I can't see any reason why after the weigh in he won't still be able to rehydrate into the high 150's or even 160 lb. Can someone clarify this issue for me? Thanks in advance.
the only problem with the catchweight for this fight is that its for a vacant title, neither of them should be fighting for a 154 lb title in the first place, that its not even at 154 makes it worse.

the real problem with the fight isnt the weight its the oposition. pac could fight berto, williams, bradley etc, if hes gonna fight at 154 he has even more options. but instead he goes for yet another easy fight. he takes on a guy who had two straight terrible performances, the second one indicating he might not be the same after the first. he wasnt even that good to begin with anyways, and like all pacs oponents hes tailor made for him.

this fight is a mismatch and its making a mockery out of the sport, thats the problem with this fight not the catchweight.

catchweight, vacant title, neither are deserving fo the title, another catchweight title fight, Marg not deserving of a shot against Pac, Marg not deserving of a big money fight, Marg only able to get his license in TX and I am pretty sure there are other complaints.

okay, I see. Glad I asked because I did see and hear some fans making arguments about Antonio being drained and what not and I didn't think that made sense. But, yes, the title being at stake for fighters who are unproven at that weight is cause for uproar, I agree. Glad you guys pointed that out to me.

so i guess the thing people are most 'upset' about is that its for a title

you can direct that animosity towards the WBC...

The fight itself isnt bad at all: Margarito is well known, should be top ten ranked and has some noticably good wins, despite the fact he isnt as good as he once was.

Its just the ******ity surrounding the fight. It shoudnt be a title fight at all, it should be happening at a real weight class, and Pacquiao shouldnt be a '8 weight class world champ' or whatever BS hes at if he wins. that stuff is totally illegitimate.

but if you simply look at the fight as a boxing match and nothing else, its a good matchup and will be a good scrap, although it could have much better if it happened a few years back...which under the circumstances would have been near impossible to make.

Margarito isn't top ten anywhere. Definitely not at 154. Maybe 150.
