It's pretty clear that he will only fight old past prime fighters from lower weight divisions (Barrera, Marquez, Morales) or feather-fisted no-hopers(Salita, Malignaggi). If Hatton was still around and wasn't 200lbs, that fight would already be signed yesterday.

Ramadan is over today. Theres gonna be some action and the fight gets signed by the end of next week.

Maidana's team is just acting butthurt. It'll go to a 55-45 at best.

At worst it'll go to an Ortiz fight and this will get shelved, but seriously, the belt is worth far too much to Team Khan.

problem they both have face up to - Maidana has been lying to avoid fights in the past & Khan we know doesnt really want this fight but has talked himself into it.

i cant see Khan vacating his title if im honest. whilst i give him a hard time i still think he will beat maidana very easily. hoepfully the liar and the man who likes fighting smaller fighters can get this fight on.

I've lost all respect I ever had for Maidana. He is obviously asking for too much money, and even admitted to such in several boxing publications. He is just trying to make Khan look bad. I doubt GBP/Team Khan are offering Maidana anything but a career high payday. But Maidana would probably prefer to fight for a vacant title than take on Amir Khan and be humiliated and sent back to Argentina.

How would purse bids work anyway? Both fighters are promoted by GBP. Surely GBP are going to favour Khan in any such agreement?

follows:

a. 75% to the Champion and 25% to the Challenger.

If this fight goes to purse bids, which I doubt, Maidana isn't going to get a very big payday.

b. 50% to each contender in the case of vacant titles or elimination bouts.

c. 55% to the Champion in Recess and 45% to the Interim Champion, in the
event of such a bout.

The W.B.A defines a champion in recess as a boxer who can't defend his belt due to medical reasons. Well that doesn't cover Khan, so I'm not sure how purse bids will work?

I just want this fight made, I don't give a **** about purse-splits. This fight will answer alot of questions about both fighters, since both still have to prove something.

Khan: He can beat someone who isn't feather-fisted or a midget

Madiana: He can beat someone who is considered to be technically superior to him.
