Khansmmanager said he asked for 1mil uk pounds which is 1.5mil dollars. If the pot is 2mil from hbo, and the gate will be in the uk, then it will be uk fans, and most for khan, then why the hell should maidana even get 50/50? Second thing is, khan is the champ, that alone should factor in this fight since maidana wont put that many people on their seats. Basically khan is the draw here, if it was maidana vs someone else, would 2mil even be offered by hbo? I doubt it. Heck thats whT they offered bradley vs alex right? The other issue is, it may go on uk ppv. It wont do great but again, this would be due to khans selling power. Maybe maidana thinks he can sell more than 5 ppvs here, who knows? Khan haters love to hate, and try to justify anything to make him look worse and to dig up their hate hole that even deeper.
Khan vs. Maidana is the draw. As someone else said, it's a big fight because people think Maidana can test Khan's chin, and because Khan has ducked Maidana for a year. For those reasons, it's a bigger fight than Khan-Alexander right now. If it was Khan vs. anyone else other than Bradley, there wouldn't be so much HBO money on the table either.

Maidana should get at least 60/40. And if he's been offered way under that, then he's every right to dig his heels in. Especially as he stood aside so that Khan could fight Malignaggi, when he could have got Khan stripped, on the promise of a bigger pay day against Khan down the line.

It's like when Mayweather fought Mosley - the reason it sold so well is that Mosley wasn't a bum but was perceived as a real threat to Mayweather. Similarly, Maidana is perceived as a real threat to Khan and that's why it's a big fight.

        Work it out perhaps.

        1 mil is 50%

So the other 50% must be?

        1mil.

        That's just minimum.
Maidana says he doesn't want to be low balled. That doesn't mean he's asked for 50/50, it just means he doesn't want to be low balled, and wants to be paid what he deserves. He certainly deserves 60/40 and that's what he should have been offered. We don't know what he's been offered, but GBP certainly don't think he's being unreasonable, so it's a fair assumption that he's been low-balled so far.

Sorry but if it is in the UK, then the draw is Khan who has sold out venues before, has had a few PPV's but I don't think they sold great numbers.

Khan brings fans, even to the US. Khan brings haters too.

Madaiana will not bring that many fans from Argentina IMO. Heck even boxing fans who like him, are they going to go for him?

Khan made over 1 mil for Paulie.

Khan can make it with others IMO. Alex, Bradley, Ortiz, Judah, Hatton, Urango.

No way Maidana deserves 60/40. Khan should get that.

He wnats 50/50 which is not right when he doesn;t fill seats.

If there was no Khan, it wouldn't be PPV in the UK. It wouldn't be on HBO if it was Maidana alone.

Yes Maidana's puncher's chance is helping sell the fight, but I do not believe he is 50% of the draw or money making.

This can also be seen by his purses aswell.

Maidana imo is looking to cash in because he knows the only chance he has of winning is landing something big. He has a punchers chance and that's it.

What does low balled mean? I thought it meant less than 50%

GBP just want to make the fight and make some money. They all do.

Maidana got paid to step aside. On top of that he also got 3 HBO dates like Maidana-Cayo.

It won't be in the UK, because HBO won't fund it if it is, and HBO are offering a lot more money than Sky. Even in the UK, Khan-Maidana would sell a lot more PPV than Khan vs. anyone else except Bradley and that's doubly true in the States, where HBO have already built this fight up and flat out accused Khan of ducking Maidana.

It isn't Maidana alone, so what you say about that is completely irrelevant. If it was Khan alone it would sell far less than it is going to sell.

No one is claiming he deserves 50/50, and you have no evidence whatsoever that he's asked for that much. But he certainly deserves at least 60/40, especially as he stepped aside when he could have had Khan stripped, on the promise that he'd make more money by doing so. GBP don't think he's being unreasonable, so it's a fair assumption that he isn't. And given that GBP don't think he's being unreasonable, and given that he appears to be asking for an amount (which hasn't been made public) rather than a percentage, he's quite right to say his private negotiations are none of team Khan's business.

No,it just means being paid less than you're worth. When Mayweather was offered an $11 million guarantee to fight Mosley last year, he said he was being low-balled by Arum. It has absolutely nothing to do with the percentage.

No he didn't. He was just told the fight would be much bigger, and he'd make a lot more money, down the line, if he agreed to step aside and give them time to build it more. Plus he was told he could only fight on HBO if he agreed to step aside (which is a sort of blackmail).

They haven't happened yet. The Khan fight will be the second of those dates.
