yeah it makes sense that toney got hit by hvywts like sam peter. he should not taken those shots.

I think with Pernell it was due to the accumulation of punches during the back end of his career rather than any particular fight

It isn't about one fight. It's a career. Even if you make prime DLH look foolish 8 out of 10 punches he throws, 2 prime DLH shots are damaging. He also took some shots on the first Rivera fight (which, IMHO, he lost).

They probably took allot of punishment during sparring, your sparring partner trains everyday with you , he knows your style. So sparring partners usually hit you more then your opponent
