Thats nice to hear man keep on enjoying and learning the sport. Have you ever watched any older fights? If you have'nt you should go through the archives and educate yourself even more. So many great fights and fighters from the past that help carve out the fighters we have today. I educated myself with the complete history when I was 11 years old. Then I started to box and I had a better understanding. I follow every aspect of the sport. The problem is I found I was more entertained before I understood it all. Oh well I still love the sport.
Yeah bro,At first i just liked the all out action fight. But little by little i
loved how the sweet science works.I'm a big pirog fan,And now i liking
technical fighters alot,Such as pirog, marquez, mayweather,But still enjoy
    action fights tho.

      Network TV. Period.

Boxing became a niche sport the moment it went on HBO and became even more of a niche sport when it went on HBO PPV. I promise you if I was a fighter I'd take less money for a few of my fights if they could be on regular ABC. I know in the long run it would aid in my exposure. Plus we need boxers that reach different avenues. Look at Floyd the ****er is on NBA all star weekend skits and **** that's mainstream. Manny Pac CAME OUT WITH A ****ING ALBUM. Come on just follow that blueprint to success.

mma attracts young people ( im young too ,21) i think because it requires a lot less paying attention and usually offers more of a visual spectacle in the form of very frequent KOs. A lot of people i dont think want to invest their time in a 12 round fight of boxers they dont know.

but boxing has to be promoted far more than it is in the UK anyway, in recent years the only boxing advertising has been "buy this Khan ppv for £15". Thats too steep for any casual fan not interested in any of the undercards and probably not that fussed with Khan too.

          2. real sport, no drama-like wrestling-****
          3. super tournament once in a while, for each division

When i was about 5 or 6 i could see Tyson, Sugar Ray and guys like that on ABC. It would help if there was more emphasis on the Olympics and building guys out of the Olympics like De La Hoya and the many before him.
I too think something similar to this would help. MMA has S*P*I*K*E*TV and they ae always showing older ufc fights. You have to have HBO or Showtime to maybe catch a replay of a boxing match every once a month or so. The only other channel that may show fights is ESPN Classic and I don't even get that in my TV package.

We need more free to air big fights and more control over who fights who so that the match ups everyone wants to see happen rather than fizzling out.

                  What yall think.
ONE major title belt in each weight class, not five. The disbanding of most of these governing bodies that don't want a unified champion so they can "continue to extort these exorbitant fees" as Larry Merchant so eloquently put it.

Boxers willing to fight every major contender and the champion of their weight class, not just the opponents they think they have a better chance at beating or the guys that will give them a bigger payday. Basically boxers that don't duck anybody.

Put it back on national TV on weekends.

More than enough boxing gyms ripping people off for 200 dollars.

We need more boxing gyms owned by the government. Like they have basketball, baseball, teams where you just pay 100 bucks to start and you're good. 200 dollars a month to box? A lot Boxing gyms nowadays in the US is all about money and little interest in actually training kids properly.
