While I don't think too highly of Pavlik, lets all be careful. Pirog looked great, but its not time to put him in with a PAvlik or a paul williams now IMO. Go back and watch duran-davey moore. Davey moore had everything but he was WAY too young to be in with Duran. Killed his whole career. IMO pirog's victory says more about the poor matchmaking of GBP and eric gomez than it does about pirog's talent. he's young and really talenetd. But lets hold up for a minute.

this seems like an easy money grab to me
when everyone said marg would crush mosley, i was the only one who realized mosley would out speed and land bombs on marg all night and win an easy UD (didnt think a KO though), but was foolish to not place big money on mosley... look what happened..
when everyone said pavlik would beat hopkins, i was the only would who realized hopkins' awkward style would give kelly problems and that he would beat him by UD, but once again didnt place money on him...look what happened...
this time, i see pirog beating the **** out of the slow plodding pavlik (who's always had overrated power), who's been in some wars and who's confidence is at an all time low. if kelly is the favorite (he should be), then im not making the same mistakes as before...im putting atleast a few grand on pirog

Pirog
I gotta go with Pirog on this one. He has the hunger and the confidence and the skills to take care of Pavlik. Not that Pavlik is not a danger but I see him stopping him late or a UD. I wonder if they will have the fight in Kelly's hometown.

I have always felt Jacobs chin was a little suspect based on some things I had seen in his previous fights so I wasn't surprised that he went down and although the punch didn't appear to be that hard to me, I was not surprised, but I also believe that Jacobs could have gotten up if the ref hadn't held him down, and possibly went on to turn the fight around, he was not nearly as hurt as some claim, and appeared to be just gathering himself and then he just jumped up immediately, but the ref blatantly held him down he was clearly ready to get up and continue.
I think Pavlik is going to take him places that he has never been and systematically beat him up and break him down over the distance, Pavlik will walk through his shots and systematically break him down, but who knows the guy may take his game to another level and show that he is the real deal but I just don't think he is ready for Pavlik.

Pirog should be careful, Pavlik is a big puncher and could end his rise to stardom. Great fight though if it comes about.
