Exactly. Defense is a part of the sport too and some judges judge also on defense. Just b/c someone is busier doesnt mean they are winning the round, especially if alot of the punches are missing and hitting air. If anything most of the rounds preceding the tenth were pretty much even.

i agree....i think the mass boxing public were forgetting about Bernard and were hung up on Jermain Taylor, they happened to forget that bernard's known for rolling with punches and picking them off much like he did against taylor

I think it could be scored that way the same way Toney/Jirov was scored so lopsided on some of the judges cards...defense and CLEAN counterpunching.

I don't know why I keep injecting myself into these threads...I haven't even seen the fight yet so don't listen to me.

If you haven't even see the fight, so what the **** you're giving your opinion on the fight. Hopkins didn't win a round until the 10th, Hopkins won the last 3 rounds, Taylor won 7 rounds & 2 rounds was a draw. Hopkins was running away from Taylor for most of the fight. Like I said it last night, if any person saw the fight, thinks that Hopkins won the fight is either completely blind or an Hopkins asslicker.

I didn't comment on the outcome of the fight or anything. I was merely putting something on the table and never said that anybody had to listen to it. Again, I've never seen the fight so how would I know anything?

That's why I stated, "I don't know why I keep injecting myself into these threads...I haven't even seen the fight yet so don't listen to me". Calm down there killer...I must have really hurt your feelings or you're just roided out. Seriously, whats with the violent over-reactions?

Maybe they know defense and see punches clearly not landing while on the other hand the guy with the better defense was clearly landing his punches. This fight was a matter of activity versus accuracy. Taylor was clearly the more active fighter but missed most of his punches and Hopkins was throwing less punches but landing alot of those punches. Just in the first round alone Hopkins was 7 out of 12 and Taylor was 3 out of 33 by compubox stats. I don't really pay attention to compubox stats but they really told the story of the fight last night.

OK then let everyone know after you watch the fight. Be honest about it. Watch the first 9 rounds & you will see that Taylor won 7 & 2 was a draw. Hopkins won the last 3 rounds, also keep your eye on Hopkins, you will see him holding & hitting like 20 different times. Hopkins missed many punches, just like Taylor, the only reason compubox had Hopkins landing 10 more punches is because he was holding & hitting Taylor 3 or 4 times every time. Those punches should've not counted but it will show up on the compubox. I respect Hopkins accomplishments but he is one of the dirtiest fighters I ever seen.

That's the WORST account I've heard. Someone should stop you from watching boxing period.

He may not have seen the fight, but apparently he's got a better handle on it than you do.

                      Just brutal.
