However to finish my point (and this may not address you, just in general), lack of identifying with the boxers is what makes a fan go, "Boringg!!!"

I find the Pinnoy fans on internet annoying but do you think that when they're watching Pacquiao fight, they're the least bit thinking about whether he is entertaining them. They want him to win because he represents them.

This lack of identification particularly in America is why Boxing is declining. The White fans are a dieing breed (the old timers are still following talking about the good old days), and the young ones are moving over to MMA because there are more Caucasian-American MMA fighters (mostly out of California) who are world class level. Not that many white U.S. boxers left.

Even African-Americans aren't as supportive of African-American fighters as they used to be. Back in the day, Joe Louis had parades of african-americans celebrating his victories after another famous (Bum of the month Club) title defense. Those days are gone.

You're from Australia, are you a fan of Danny Green by any chance? What if he became a major P4P player. That's someone you could identify with and not care whether he is boring. However there is nothing coming out of Australia making any noise (Since "Thunder from down Under" from back in the day), so you're stuck following foreign fighters you can't identify with.

the guy is correct in someways, a lot of people when they watch fights seem to always want a war and they never really appreciate the art of defense

Excuse me, but who are you to tell others they aren't a boxing fan if they find some fights or fighters boring? Boxing's a sport in which we pay to be entertained. That entertainment can come in a variety of forms: some enjoy slugfests, others enjoy the more technical fights, others still enjoy the clash of personalities of a pre-fight build up. But as paying customers of a specific product we have every right to voice our opinions if we feel that said product doesn't deliver the goods. To deny that isn't being a 'real boxing fan', it's being a mindless stooge, the type of person the promoters love because they lap any old crap up without voicing a word of complaint. Your type of attitude is symptomatic of the worst type of snotty, snobby boxing fan: those who turn their nose up at others whilst simultaneously lacking any ability to descriminate the diamonds from the dross.

I'm a fan of boxing, not capoeira. Boxing is a one on one combat sport where the objective is to take your opponent out! If you boxing snobs watch boxing solely for the art of it, then I suggest you become fans of capoeira instead.

This is just another roundabout way of saying, "Don't criticise if you can't do any better" which is, has been, and always will be an infantile piece of reasoning. If you pay for a specific product (in this case an entertaining boxing match) then you have every right to criticise it if it doesn't come up to scratch. It doesn't matter if you yourself couldn't do any better, that's why you're paying others to do it. If I hire a professional to decorate my house I'm doing so because I lack the time or skills to do it myself, and I fully expect them to do a better job than I could do in their place. Get it?

Saying that, people need to be more discriminating in how they spend their money. I have no sympathy for anyone that paid to see Jones Hopkins II for example. Likewise, anyone that pays for a Mayweather fight expecting an all-action slugfest of Corrales/Castillo proportions gets what they deserve.

I agree with you 110%, when paying big bucks for a fight you are allowed to voice your opinion and complain. Pardon my original response, quite different when it's a big buck match.

I agree with you, I have watched a few chess boxing matches where one of the opponents virtually did nothing during the boxing part of the game. Seems some of the dudes shouldn't pick chess boxing as a sport as it looks as if they are afraid to get hit, what some wussies!
