I don't know what the big deal is because the possibility of beating PW at welterweight is pretty good. The guy hasn't made the weight in over two years and draining yourself does have it's effects, especially with the the tall frame of PW. Not to mention that he tends not to use his height and his reach to his advantage and will rather just trade at times. PW's work rate won't compare to Pac's and he can tear the body up because it's in range and will do heavy damage over the course of the fight. I could tell that Pac's body shot's (the few that got through) against Clottey did has some power behind it by the way Clottey tried to literally shake it off. Then he can go headhunting when Williams has slowed enough. It's not as crazy as some make it seem to be but Pac will take his fair share of damage because he's not a defensive minded fighter but I think he's proven that he can take it.

Bradley and Berto would be a bit of a tougher task because they're young bucks and they move around a lot. They're undefeated and that makes a big difference, but I think Pac beats both right now just because they're both still to green and not ready for a fighter like pac. I could be wrong and probably shouldn't be so quick to write of the young and hungry
I agree with several of your points with the exception of PW's work rate not comparing to Pac's. PW throws a LOT of punches. That alone would make it tough for little Pac to get inside.

hmmmm, let's look at Pacquiao's most recent opponents...

      Joshua Clottey-Top Rank
      Miguel Cotto-Top Rank
      Ricky Hatton-Golden Boy
      Oscar De La Hoya-Golden Boy
      David Diaz-Golden Boy
      Juan Manuel Marquez-Golden Boy

      Check the facts.

I would love to see Pacquiao take on Paul Williams. He's a freak of nature but he is sloppy and clearly hasn't been trained properly and has no idea how to use his size effectively. I think Pacquiao would have no problem finding his target and putting him to sleep. BUT everything Arum said about the low rent promoters trying to piggyback off his hard work is 100% true.

Both Williams and Bradley would be big stars right now if they were signed to Top Rank or GBP, but as it stands Paul Williams' last fight the arena was half empty and Tim Bradley fought at the 2,000 Agua Caliente w/ empty seats. If guys like Williams and Bradley want to trade-in dinky Indian casinos for fights against name opponents in packed 50,000 seat stadiums on PPV or at the MGM Grand, they would dump their current management and sign on with a REAL promoter like Arum.

And Tim Bradley needs to stop wasting everyone's time and try to clean up the 140 division. I want to see him take on Khan, Maidana, Ortiz, and especially Alexander. If these so called promoters were competent, they would organize a super 6-like tournament at 140 and help turn their unknown fighters into box office stars like Arum has done for the likes of Ali, Leonard, Hagler, Mayweather, De La Hoya, Pacquiao, etc over his 40 years in the business.

You're accusing Cotto fans of being out of touch with reality, yet call Cotto's fight with Foreman a life and death fight.

Im sorry but neither Berto or Bradley deserve a shot at pacquiao...they havent beaten or faced anyone to be up there...not saying it wouldnt be a nice fight with either one..but just that they arent up there yet...no name as far as the $$ goes for either of them.

And PWill needs to stop fronting like he's being ducked by pac..dude ur fighting at 154-160..and pac is supposed to have u in his radar? might as well have pavlik or bhop on his radar too..just ******..if he wanted pac that bad..he shouldve stayed at 147..

pac's ultimate goal is floyd. floyd's scalp on his resume is the ultimate prize, not even close.
There is nothing slick about Andre Berto.

cotto is finished but hes still an okay boxer no head movement, footwork, or defense, big heart though. cotto vs berto would be a slug fest i think berto would win also but i wouldnt count cotto out.

paul williams and pac dont need to be mentioned in the same sentence niether does pac n ****rito or cotto but its all arum at this point he will make this fight and cash in...

pac vs berto would be more or a fight at this point id rather see it but i know it wont happen... pac would win but not easily i think berto needs a new corner...

                bradley... naa not yet

Williams has been campaigning at junior middleweight and middleweight in his last five fights, but plans to move back to welterweight before the end of the year.

I agree w/ goosen that nobody really wants to see pac vs marg or cotto and that pac verse bradley/berto/pwill would be more interesting.

however I do agree with Arum that bradley/berto/pwill are not ppv attractions. I doubt bradley/berto/pwill can do 30% better in PPVs than margarito or cotto.

I also agree with Arum that bradley/berto/pwill are not promoted well.

in addition, in goosen's 2 examples of pwill/marg and floyd vs baldomir/mitchell, pwill got a free ride off of margarito's popularity which was the work of top rank, and floyd was developed by arum for years and years and goosen got a free ride off arum's work.

So weird how it wasn't cool for Floyd to shrug fighters off by saying the fights didn't make sense business-wise but it's ok for TR to do the same? Nonsense. Josh Clottey was the definition of a nobody. just make the better fight.
