Dan Rafael: "Floyd WON'T sign because he now has money from the Mosley fight"

Excerpt from Dan Rafael's ESPN chat today...

"The addition of the clock to the TR web site tells me they know Mayweather isn't going to sign and now they can let loose. There were negotiations and they were substantive. I believe Pacquiao and Top Rank really want to make the fight for November. When it was talked about for March, I do not think Arum wanted to make it. Now he does. But back then Mayweather, who needed the money, wanted to make it. Now he has money from the Mosley fight and doesn't want to fight."

I saw that. this is what people don't get. The landscape has changed. Floyd gained leverage by beating SSM so decisively.

The Harvard man should have thought about that before what took place in Dec. and Jan., anyways I don't think Arum is mad or going to let lose he seems quite calm like he knows what is going to happean and is not concerned~

If I was Floyd I would have no problems not doing that side any favors after how things got played the first go around. This go around is small potatoes compared to the first (when it comes to media attention and therefore heat), to be honest that is always why things felt off it did not seem like a big fight was comming together and it never felt like that but I don't think it blew up either.

While I enjoy Dans posts and his honesty He is anti Maywather and Pro Pacquiao. I can't blame him but he is a writer 1st and a fan 2nd.

If Floyd only fights for money then why wouldn't he take this fight?

After talking so much about beatin Pacquiao the Mayweather camp clearly wants it.

I must also ask if Floyd plans on being a (somewhat) active boxer then how can he avoid a Pacquiao showdown?

I think both need to be crucified if this fight doesn't happen. Arum's words have allowed a lot of people to believe it acceptable for Manny to negotiate with Cotto and Margarito, when it shouldn't be. If we show our outrage then Arum will make sure he makes this fight. Pressure must be applied to both sides, not just Mayweather.

Because if he makes too much money this year the IRS will take a chunck out of his ass.
