GBP will pay off their debts and then get the money right back by charging us to see Mosley-Mora and a bunch of other **** we didn't ask for. Something is seriously wrong over there.

lol @ people actually trying to defend this ****.

I guess suspensions in NY don't hold as much weight as suspensions in CA.

      Antonio Margarito says hi.

*********.com has learned the details behind the New York State Athletic Commission’s suspension of Golden Boy Promotions. Oscar De La Hoya’s promotional powerhouse was placed under administrative suspension over a snafu involving the NYSAC’s request for promotional agreements involving the May 15 Amir Khan-Paul Malignaggi event in the Theater at Madison Square Garden. Golden Boy Promotions COO David Itskowitch explained to ********* that since those agreements contain confidentiality clauses and New York is a “public information state,” the Muhammad Ali Act provides for those documents to be submitted to the Association of Boxing Commissions, which has been done. Itskowitch, added that the NYSAC had never given him a deadline nor communicated that a suspension was being considered. We would expect this to be cleared up in fairly short order one the NYSAC, the ABC and Golden Boy get on the same page.

Regarding reports of an alleged accounting discrepancy involving a half-million dollars from the event, *********.com has spoken to two reliable sources with knowledge of the situation, and neither said that information is accurate.

Yes that might be true, but as stated in this article, GBP has the most influence with HBO and Oscar Delahoya himself who claimed to be above corrupt promoting because he himself was a fighter, makes him lose even more credibility with this.

He is shortchanging fighters like a Bob Arum or Don King would and he was a fighter himself. Shows that nobody is above it.

Thomas Hauser brought this whole episode up earlier:
The only thing dumber than paying 750K combined for Ortiz-Campbell on a BAD card is paying Amir Khan 1,000,000 alone to appear on the same card in a ****ty fight that nobody wanted to see.

I think it's pretty obvious that GBP can't meet Khan's minimum without creative accounting unless he is fighting Alexander, Bradley or Maidana.

I hope this means that GBP cannot afford to put Khan in with bums any longer at the expense of their undercard fighters.

If this suspension stands and other states begin to scrutinize their dealings it will be good for fans because fighters like Khan will be forced to earn their own money based on what they are actually worth.
