Carlos Monzon is the Greatest Middleweight of all time

Do you guys agree or disagree with this statement? I think he is...

1.) The guy avenged EVERY Loss and Draw of his career

2.) Used to be a chain smoker and a party guy yet still got so far in boxing and didnt lose focus

    3.) Hadn't lost a fight from 1964 to 1977 till his retirement with a record of 87-3

4.) Was the undisputed middleweight champion for 7 years

5.) Defended his linear middleweight championship for 14 times.

6.) Had wins over Emile Griffith twice (Monzon was the second man to stop him), Nino Benvenuti, Rodrigo Valdez (Twice) to regain his wbc title for which he got stripped for not facing his mandatory.

Even Bernard Hopkins admitted out of the Middleweight ATG's he would lose to Carlos Monzon.

Carlos Monzon was a very active fighter and had a damn good jab, he knew how to use it properly. In the briscoe fight i think he average throwing 60 jabs per round

He was still an a$$hole though outside the ring, notorious for beating women.

It's probably between Monzon, Hagler and Greb.

What strikes me about Monzon is the way he moves and punches. It looks so slow and catlike but somehow he generates lots of steam on his punches that he fires in a very fluent fashion. He was born to fight.

I would say him, Hagler or Robinson.

AllHipHop.com: One last great middleweight I want to throw your way is Carlos Monzon.

Hopkins: I’d love Carlos Monzon, a tall, straight up fighter. I’d have broken him down to the body and knocked him out. I see myself getting Carlos Monzon based on breaking him down with my vicious body attack, and taking him out of there with my speed and accuracy. [It would be] the left hook to the liver like I hit Oscar with.

Yes he did. But, he still did a lot of work at MW. Enough to let him in the top 3 along with Greb and Monzon IMO. You can make a case for SRR and Greb being the greatest MWs of all time.
