Toney the drug dealer may be a draw for you... no sruprise there.
I've read that it was only 75K as well, though HBO initially reported it at over 100 - which is well below Toney-Holyfield. Spinksjinx has the link to the page with the buys. Maybe he can provide the stats...

I have read only the RUMOURS about 75K which HBO has officially denied.

Toney-Holyfield was 150K -- this is when Holyfield was thought to be not done. I think the number can be attributed primarily to Holyfield.

What were PPVS #s for Ruiz-Toney?

December 27, 2004 - Much to **********'s surprise, the December 11 Vitali Klitschko-Danny Williams PPV did not generate 120,000 PPV homes as HBO has previously indicated. Several reliable sources have informed **********.com that Klitschko-Williams generated less than 100,000 PPV buys. We also understand the actual number of homes that purchased the fight was closer to 75,000 than 120,000. Evidently, the American public isn't buying into HBO and Ring ****zine's classification of Klitschko as "the heavyweight champion." Several calls have been placed to HBO's PPV whiz Mark Taffet, none of which have yet to be returned. K2 Promotions, the promoter didn't have the exact number for **********.com when we called them over the weekend. We will continue to keep you updated, so stay tuned. Until then remember where you heard it first! (5:20 PM ET)

Of course they would deny that their man's big show ****** so bad in the ratings department.

Ruiz-Toney wasn't a PPV; it was a replacement for Klitschko-Rahman. Had Ruiz-Toney gone to PPV, it would have likely needed a co-main event, possibly an entire card hype such as "Struggle for Supremacy"

Ruiz can't carry a PPV card. People buy PPV for 2 opponents they want to root for and Ruiz isn't all that popular. Look at the apathy on the board for Barrera-Fana being a PPV. I would rank Vit's popularity between Toney's and Ruiz's...

So you only believe news that has been officially authorized by the parties involved? Does that mean you believe everything that say, George W Bush tells you and write off his detractors as rumour-mongers? Just wondering...

I think Vitaliy should fight PPV fights in Europe where he won't be treated as an alien and where the public will accept a champion that is not a trash talker.

Well, this is a personal matter.

********** often reports quicky news which turn out to be flukes.

Why should I jump on their band vagon in this matter?

On the other hand, I do not see why HBO should hide their numbers. HOB said 120K and they did say they were NOT happy with it.

P.S. You love Bush, don;t you?

Cause its a bogus deal. They wanted 60-40, which isn't even fair for Toney, and they wanted Options on Toney.
