Well, I agree with you if it's true that Toney's camp wants a 35/65 split. I think that is something Vitali should be able to live with. I was mainly responding to those who say he wants a 50/50.
Where are you all getting that Toney's camp agreed to 65/35 split?
As I recall that was the initial offer, which goosen declined
His suspension was supposed to be 90 days. He actually from what the articles say used steroids that are supposed to aid in healing injuries (His calf) remember toney has been in boxing for a very long time and he never tested positive for anything ever. Because of this the board was lenient on him. Its probably true. who knows. anyway he can fight Klitchko soon if he wants its just a matter o getting the fight together.
Thnx thats what i wanted to know. Hopefully the fight will happen soon. Maby toney should take a tune up befor he fights vit.
[QUOTE=scap]As a genral little rule everyone should be careful when they discuss fight negotiations...****, is it really as simple as taking Finkel or Goosens rhetoric and then drawing a line in the sand and saying this is how it is-this is how the negotiations went/broke down?
i have to say that thie whole thread is bull****, all the people out there saying that vit should fight toney or hes a ***** are full of ****.
also.
ATTENTION *******S!!!!
here is a fact. yes, a fact.
al the people who keep saying that vitali doesent fight the comp and hes a ***** look at it this way.
here are vits last 5 fights:
1. D. Williams 32-3. no good but beat tyson, was gonna get a big fight regardless, its good he was sent packing
2. C. Sanders 39-2 #1 available challenger for title, no choice but to take fight
3. K.johnson 34-1-1 if he is so bad why was lewis going to fight him as a farewell to boxing?
4. Lennox Lewis - need i say more?????
5. Larry Donald - whooped on holyfield, the only legit guy that toney has beaten.
here are toney's
1. Ruiz-steroids, make excuses, but he deserves punishment
2. Rydell Booker - Please
3. Evander Holyfield - at the time no better than a top 30
4. vasily Jirov - decent fighter, ill give him that
5. jason robinson - who?
toney is essentially trying to **** talk himself into a shot at the title, which he does not deserve. hell i am from ann arbor, mi, toneys home town and i love the guy and think hes a great fighter, but he does not deserve his rank nor a title shot after testing positive for performance enhancers. if klitschko is fighting patsies and being critisized for it than toney should be thrown uot of boxing altogether. this thread is ludicrous. i hope vitali never wastes his time with this bum.
the reason vit doenst have an oppenet signed is because he cant till after the rahman/barret fight, see why cant u udnerstand that if rahman/barret are indeed ready to fight in 6 weeks after theres agasint vitali thats who vit has to fight, now after rahman/barret if the winner declares he is not ready then and only then can vit can sign an oppenet and the WBC wont strip him, and after comign off back surgery i think he is entiled to fight a tune up but a somewhat known fighter, and dotn say sanders and johnson, willaims are tune ups cause they werent and they were before his abck problems

Each of those three fights WERE the equivelent of a tune up.
If he was banking on the winner of the Rahman Barrett fight being ready, he wouldn't have been negotiating with Maskiev and Brock.
You have no source for any of that, it came straight out of your ass.
He's looking to take a fight on Spet 24th, the WBC will most likley sanction it.
All you're doing is making excuses for Vitali like you always do. At least some of the other nut huggers (as deluded as they are) admit he should take on Toney. You're always crying about it and trying to justify him taking the easiest fights possible.

BOTTOM ****ING LINE!!!!!!
TONEY DOESENT DESERVE ****!
Look this is boxing and the best fighters should fight each other. Vitali can cement his heavyweight belt, so called supremacy by your statements above, by fighting James Toney. Talk is cheap. Yeah there is a possibility he can win and still there is a possibitity he can lose. Just because you don't like James Toney as a person shouldn't be the difference maker of fighting Klitchko. James has been fighting for years and has fought the best in each weight class he has been in, he most definately deserves a title shot. This could be one of the best fights of the year and I believe most real fight fans would want to see this.
