HE DID GO DOWN TO LHW, and he lost to journeyman Shaun George

yeh thats true and like i said previously he was beat by Calzaghe as an amatuer so maybe he does ave trouble with speed. At heavy though he sure was slicker than oil at times. I would say at CW he wouldnt have done too badly but lets face it who really cares about CW lol

it would have been the loss in weight more than the age though imo, look what happend to jones wen he lost the same amount of weight, it cant be gd for you at all

I think Byrd was a good fighter. he is a bit underrated. I have him in my top 50 HW's of all time at number 48. Which is 300 spaces above Buster Douglas and 299 spaces about Muhammad Ali.

Byrd was a beast. He doesnt get much recognition cause he couldnt put guys out cold. But he was slick and fast at a weight that wasnt his natural state.

I have respect for Byrd, the guy was quite undersized for a heavyweight in this day and age but he made it work for him, his defense when he was at his best was very good, very slick. That said though, he did have some controversial decisions go his way like the ones with Oquendo and Golota.
