I just wanted to know where fellow boxing fans rank Byrd. How good was he in his prime? Heres a nice vid of him in his earlier fights.

and his victory against vitali was BS, vitali was dominating him, but vitali tore his shoulder later in the fight and had to throw in the towel... -

byrd could beat most heavyweights cuz he was WAAAY faster and more skilled... but when he stepped up to the elite guys: wlad, vk and ike, he got DOMINATED...Comment

if you take in consideration that man was not a natural HW and that he was only 6'0 and around 212lbs-215 lbs, what he has accomplished is astonishing
2 time HW champion, beat the likes of Tua, Holyfield, McCline
he never backed down form a challenge, he fought both Klits, and the 2times that Wlad became champion, he became champion beating Byrd
he fought a very courageous fight against Vitali, and despite the fact he was well behind at the time Vitali quit, he had landed almost as many punches as Vitali
fought the beast Ibeabuchi too, Golota (draw), Oquendo (robbed)
what made him so successful despite his physical weaknesses (size and power) were his slick style, speed and southpaw stance
I wonder if he will fight again, he had moved up to CW after moving down to LHW, wonder what his plans are
