its funny but i never see a pac fan say go to the NSAC to impose a penalty if floyd comes in over wt. they say "10 mil per pound over wt is right because floyd is a cheater" but isnt that the role of the NSAC also?

some of me wants him 2 take the test cuz now i feel he has something 2 hide but some of me understands why he doesnt want 2 take the test. i know every1 gets on pacquiao for this fight not being made but come on people lets be fair...... floyd came out with a demand that was never made in the history of boxing. fighters beef over gloves, purse splits, venues, catch weights (esspecially pacquiao) but floyd went the extra mile. he deserves some blame 2 for this fight not going down.

This dude right here understands was really happening, good post! When I saw Ricky Hatton on 24/7 leg press over 1000 pounds I thought he was on something but u dont ask him for nothing. But at the sametime I understood why he wanted to blood test Mosley, and Mosley got the chance to clean his name up eventhough he never tested positive for anything. Mosley never testing positive is why there are all these questions b/c he testified he used it during training for De la Hoya and still tested negative.

I 2 have switched my position, I think he should take the test, maybe if pacquiao didn't have all those tatoos, Bob Arum didn't reside in Las Vegas, and Arum didn't make much of a fuss about Margarito an argument could be made but Forturne is right there is 2 much money on the line and people from all avenues will cheat when hundreds of millions of dollar could potentially be on the line. Can you imagine the betting props and money line when the fight gets closer, everybody and their family will be betting. Cornermen, cutmen, trainers, and promoters will be looking to make retirement money off of this fight and at least if you lose you can rest knowing you were beat fair and square. I can't imagine either man taking a dive or cheating but that doesn't rule out camp members.

you are right on the money. former lt wt champ jimmy paul told me when he lost his title he thought his trainer gave him food poisoning to slow him down so he could lose the fight he was the bet to win. and being from detroit i get the opp to talk to a lot of fighters and they all have horror stories about people triing to get over some how. but you said it best when you said, " with ost who ever lose they know they they got beat by a clean fighter" and mad props to you for having the fortatude to switch positions. a lot of people would be stubborn and not switch.

But taking the test will not catch him if he will not roid during the supposed to be fight. So the test would be useless in proving that he is a roider...

this is the most rediculous post i've ever seen.this logic is sooo nonsense. the point of this test is to prevent guys from cheating and if they do cheat, the USADA test is technologically superior in catching these cheaters, as opposed to just the decade-long piss-test!

Fact of the matter, Pacquiao and his team has CLEARLY INDICATED that they will abide by commission rules i.e. if that entails blood testing, they will follow it. Nevada boxing commission is already starting to deliberate the inclusion of blood testing . . SO WHY ARE THESE PEOPLE (i.e. Boxing writers that are incredibly bias to Mayweather, former associates or trainers which don't have any shred of evidence, etc) YOU ARE INSINUATING, AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN, that Pacquiao is on something!!!! You are claiming the world has NEGATIVELY TURNED ON THE PACMAN . . really? I think thats a bit of bull . .

Most people (and rightly so) feel that the sports of boxing . . needs to update its testing standards. And that it needs to be vetted out in the proper forum (boxing commission, sports medical experts, etc .. together - discussing and agreeing and yes, eventually setting up better testing protocols). So, its good to see boxing writers/experts that throw some critical comments . . we like that intelligent discussions . . but, when BIAS people/PEOPLE with AGENDAs continue to INSINUATE THAT PACQUIAO HAS TO DO THIS . . THAT THERE ARE NO GOOD CHOICES for opponents (i.e. what do you mean no other choice, there are several good opponents that have already raise their hands in wanting to fight Pacquiao.) Further, the guy just got elected to the Philippine Congress . . and that will occupy his time as well (not to mention his numerous businesses . . and even worthy charity and non-profit organizations that he is supporting). AND THESE (seeming PONTIFICATORS) CLAIM HE HAS NO CHOICE? the guy has plenty of choices . . too many in fact, inside and MORE IMPORTANTLY OUTSIDE THE RING.

BOTTOM LINE, these warriors (Pacquiao and Mayweather) need to settle the score INSIDE the ring - - and while we await the negotiations, RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE (i.e. writers, fans) should refrain from making so many "bellow the jabs" . . from time to time . . about PED insinuation. The boxing public already has read a lot of columns about this . . and not sure, why the constant revisiting will ACTUALLY HELP THE FIGHT BECOME A REALITY.

Definitely, its an important aspect in the negotiation, however we should allow the Pacquiao and Mayweather camp to have good deliberations (i.e. don't need the circus get overblown by the media). Its not going to be easy to firm up the fight given the various demands & large egos . . however, media and the fans, are better off providing ENCOURAGING COMMENTS (i.e. the commonalities that bring them together . . rather, than rub off constantly the cuts and bruises that will undermine this "once-in-a-lifetime event from happening"

you called fortune money grubbing. and i said every one in boxing is after the money. but im really tired of hearing about the NSAC when it comes to drug testing. if you are going to kow tow to the NSAC it should be for ALL the rules and not just the ones that apply to "the other guy" would you agree?
