Tarver faded down the stretch, it is unfortunate Johnson cant fight on the outside because in that 11th round if he fought from the outside he probably would have put Tarver down to score a 10-8 round.
I agree, i don't see how ANYONE could have scored the 12th for Tarver.

Who cares about their fights since there's no dazzling speed, awesome power or frankly excitement about whether they live or die?

They both were fortunate enough to happen along when Roy was ripe for pickin ... and they picked him off.

Neither will be remembered a year or two from now for their careers.

JOHNSON has been on the tough end of some bad decisions. His record may indicate that he is a C class fighter but in reality he is a B class fighter AT THE LEAST. In this division he can beat anyone dont know if that makes him a A class fighter or not but hes good

Tarver threw more and landed more punches in the 12th then Johnson did. Tarver was throwing combinations and then clinched before Johnson could get off with his punches. Johnson himself intiated some of the clinches towards the end of the 12th as well. They were both exhausted but I think Johnson had a little bit left but just couldn't get off in the 12th.

i agree, Tarver was the only one landing punches in rd 12, they were quick counter-lefts followed by clinching (somewhat of a southpaw Ruiz-style round) but it was definitely enough to win the 12th hands-down....and FINALLY I was somewhat accurate on one of my predictions! Tarver by UD!!!

tarver looked liek he wanted to keel over and die with them body shots, in my book glen needed that 12th round for a tie and a KD which was close woulda won him the fight, i can kinda see it 116-112 for tarver but i thoguht the fight was much closer to me cause glen made a big comeback

Tarver was more exhausted than Johnson but I wouldn't say Tarver was hurt more. He did get wobbled in the 11th but as a whole, Johnson's face was a little more swollen after the fight. I don't think either was more hurt than the other physically. However, Johnson was definately more frustrated his night didn't go according to plan. Tarver did a fabulous job of ducking punches in this fight and that definately affected Johnson's confidence in the fight. The man never quit though. Johnson kept coming and probably is in the best physical condition of just about any boxer out there. He was gracious and humble in defeat as well. I wish there were more Glen Johnson's in the sport of boxing.

Wasn't a great fight but Tarver fought it smart but safe. Tarver wanted to make the fight somewhat exciting so he finally started throwing real punches in the 11th and got winded. Wow, he threw 3 combos at full strength and got winded at the 2:00 mark in the 11th. He ended up get hurt that round and held thru out the 12th. Very impressive... That's where our Light Heavy crown rest on.

Tarver's punchs were so weak, pitty pat I didn't know why Johnson didn't eat them with his face like in the first fight. Johnson took way more punishment in the first fight, this was a walk in the park. Johnson's gloves were way to big they couldn't land anything significant on the haed as well. Johnson should've worked harder but his style and skills are so limited. Tarver kept off the ropes and circled around Johnson's simple style. Johnson should've grabbed Tarver and corner him or fight in the clinch. He never clinched much till the 12th and was gassed.

12th round was a tie because no one was fighting, they were dancing with each other. The ref wanted in but never got to dance, too bad. Tarver gets the slight nod because it's strategic but I would never give a point for anyone for that 12th round.

BTW I think one judge had it 115-112. I had it at that due to the tie in the 12th. Not a close fight at all. Tarver was in control of the pace and tempo of the fight. He worked more, thru more punches, threw combos, and displayed more skill.

Watch out for Julio Gonzalez who seems to be our next champ if Tarver fights him in the near future.

Yeah, it was nice of Johnson to admit that this was a legitimate loss. I saw an interview in Boxing News where he went through his eleven losses/draws. He said that two "could have gone either way" but that only Bernard Hopkins truly defeated him. It looks like Tarver has been added to that number now.

I agree, although I must say I was impressed with Johnson's comments after the fight.

I think Johnson knocks Tarver out in the third fight.
