[QUOTE=SoldierWarrior;8294884]Fighters get better with each era. Better eating habits, better training and so on. Its not fair to compare the past to the present.[/QU

ya right u can train all that u mentioned..but u can nvr train 'Heart' and 'Will'
and trust me olden day fighters wouldnt be scared to die in the ring and will not go down easily..Go watch Beau jack vs Ike Williams for instance.

To say Floyd has no chance of beating SRL to me is just favoring older eras. Its not like its difficult to watch Ray's fights on youtube and when i watch the entire Benitez, Ayub Kalule, Larry Bonds fights i think Floyd could compete with Ray and would have his advantages as well.

There speed is much different as Ray was more about volume while Floyd's speed is about timing and accuracy. Volume doesn't mean your always landing so sometimes Ray would throw these flashy combos that looked pretty but not always accurate. Ray had problems with Benitez and Floyd is 10 times the offensive fighter than Wilfred is. Watch that fight again how Benitez punches are wide. He made ray miss a lot in that fight and had he had Floyds counterpunch speed and punched straight down the pipe he would have won that fight. Ray also got hit a lot by the slow plodding Kalule who had no business hitting Ray as often as he did.

i don't think you can train it, but i don't think it's necessarily something you're born with either. hard lives make hard fighters imo.

Had SRL and Floyd fought Ray would have to get away from that bad habit Gil Clancy you used to talk about when Ray would bend his head down so much when he jabbed to the body. He had a habit of bending his head down but always got away with it. Floyds gonna land that upercut at will if he did it and straight right hand over the top of Ray's jab to the body when he bends his head down like that. It was actually wide open in the Benitez fight just Wilfred didnt have that in his arsenal.

Unless somebody has followed both of their careers then how can anyone say anything? Ray was obviously a fantastic fighter else he wouldnt be held in such high regard but Ive only seen like 3 of his fights and one was where he lost to Randolf Turpin... now I dont know if Ray was 100% in this fight or what but if Turpin could beat him then why cant other people beat him? Ive always said the fighters of today are better than the fighters of yesterday in skill and fitness because we know more about health, fitness and sport science. I dont know who would have won and neither does anyone because its impossible to tell but I do know Mayweather is an extra special boxer and i dont think anyone has mastered the "art of boxing" as good as he has.

              This is so wrong.

Todays top fighters get tired BEFORE the 12th. yesterdays top fights Went 15 and looked like they could go 10 more.

Floyd is the most god given talent skill wise ive ever seen, but i gotto go wit ma boy Robinson, His Power, Speed, and tremendous heart would pull him the win, but by no means would it be a domination, IMO floyd gives any ATG problems with his defence and timing.

Floyd can't beat Sugar Ray Robinson.

How did you guage this? I'm guessing you have some amazing scientific method?

I mean, we know Shane can hit. Robinson's punch was 10 times more damaging? Why 10 exactly? Why not 5? Or, hey, why not 500?

LMFAO, this is what I'm talking about. That kinda thing doesn't represent boxing discussion - it represents people slipping into some nerdyass Dungeons And Dragons, Warhammer 40,000 'fantasy' type ****. SMH.
