So to recap. According to the Paclanders. If fighter A turns down fighter B because fighter A thinks fighter B is too good. Fighter A is not to be considered as ducking Fighter B, according to the Paclanders..lol....................Only in Pac land does this make sense lol....
because he looked like this vs Margarito= & Team Pac looked like =
Vs Mora, Shane Mosley looked like = & Team Pac looked like =
Come on, .... you guys know that with Cotto being an option, an Arum guy, that the Mosley fight would have been hard to make.
Still, you guys need to remember that Manny was still trying to get comfortable with fighting at WW so Roach was smart and was looking out for his fighter. After the Cotto fight, being only Manny's 2nd fight at WW, he has not asked for a catch-weight since then.
Now, for it to be a clear duck, Manny would have had to be a WW for several fights at least and look good at that weight ... but again Cotto was just his 2nd and really just his first true WW.
Finally, in this video, Roach doesn't sound like a guy who is ducking Mosley .... but like I said, Roach still was looking out for his fighter and therefore asking for a catchweight with Mosley / Cotto.
At that point in time, Mosley and Manny couldn't meet in terms of weight plus they had what they thought was a good option in Cotto.
only pact@rds would say no. He said in an interview that Mosley was too good.
he said that if shane wanted to fight pac it would have to be at 140 lbs. and mosley said that they fought Oscar at 147, and roach said ... "but you're not oscar" .. meaning they wanted even more of an advantage against shane by having him weight drain himself.
but after floyd handles mosley easily, team pac is all over that fight!
