Manny's #1 position was laughable in the first place!

Manny is an exciting fighter, probably the most exciting in the sport but that does not constitute handing him the #1 spot on any list especially boxings PFP list! He did not earn it in the first place. Fighting to a draw and Slit Decision victory with JMM. Beating up a slow but aggressive David Diaz. Beating on a Totally weight drainned Oscar, "who had not fought at 147 in over 9 years". Destroying an aggressive come forward no defence Ricky Hatton. Now, Miguel Cotto is one of my favorite fighters and had he not been cheated and beat half to death by MargiCheato and them damn cement hand wraps your win over him would have definately been something special. Manny fought Cotto right after a tough war with Clottey, after the horrific beating from MargiCheato and still made Cotto drain down to a 145lbs catch weight when he was known to struggle to make 147lbs to begin with. Manny is a great and exciting fighter but his path to #1 PFP was well crafted and doctored by Coach Roach! To be honest I don't think he's even #2 PFP. IMO P WILL should be considered. Beat MargiCheato, Beat the hell out of Winky, Destroyed Quintana, beat Martinez and Kelly ran from him the whole 2009 calendar year, Just a thought!

No, did you not read my post?

      Don't confuse championships with rankings.

To be the champ you have to beat the champ.

You don't have to beat the #1 ranked guy to become the #1 rank guy.

Rankings and championships are totally different.

By The Ring rankings, going by The Ring Pac deserved to be ranked #1 after Clottey.

But, I have no problem with The Ring ranking Floyd #1 at WW since he beat Shane. But, I still think is debatable. Going by The Ring rankings

The Ring and Lineal are two different things. Sometimes The Ring gets it right and sometimes they don't. In this case they didn't since Floyd-Shane was for the lineal title.

Floyd with the win becomes the lineal champ and Pac is rank #1 for the title.

He didn't earn it? What did the man have to do? Who should of been ranked besides him if he didn't earn it?

Let it go guys rankings are never gonna be universal. Its opinion based. Pac is #1 and floyd is #2 on my list by a hair, but i wont crucify someone who thinks its the other way ( floyd #1 pac #2).

Whats laughable is the fact that some idiots here discredit pac's rise to the top of the rankings. Give the man his props, up until the cotto fight, all u haters thought pac was gonna get exposed but instead he dominated his opponents. Same goes for floyd haters. Any unbiased non hater should have those 2 as their #1 and #2.

although I disagree...I'm upset if ring chose to put Floyd above Pac. IMO I see it like this

Floyd's win over Mosley = Pac's win over Cotto
Pac beating Clottey >>>>Floyd beating Marquez

That's just how I feel and why I think Pac should be higher, but to each his own. In reality, time will tell who deserves the number one spot...and that's really all fans should be worried about.

                YOU ARE ******ED!!!!
How do you come to that conclusion.
That is the dumbest statement posted. Pacquaio kinda struggled against clottey didnt land to many shots, accuracy wise. Clottey was like a human punch bag. wasnt a very impressive perfromance in my opinion
How can u rate Clottey over Shane mosley.
                Mosley
                3 time world champ
                won 46 (KO 39) + lost 6 (KO 0)= 53 KO %= 73.5%
Notable wins against De La Hoya (x2), Vargas(x2), Mayorga, Margacheato
                Clottey
                1 time world champ,
                won 35 (KO 20) + lost 4 (KO 0)= 40 KO%=50%
Notable wins against Judah, Coralles, ...... Lost to Margacheto and Baldomir.

Finishin off id like to say i dont like to insult boxer like most people on this site, but IMO floyd fighting shane was a much bigger risk that pac fightin Clottey. Im not talkin down pacs win but clottey does not have much dimention to his style, very upright and tight kinda amatuer look to his pro style, but mosley is a more powerful ko artist of the 2.
And floyds win sorry domination over Mosley, was WAAAAAY more impressive than Pacquaios over Clottey.
I think Mayweathers position as the new P4P no1 is defo justified

How can you say there´s a rule about No 1 having to fight No 2 or 3...in order for No1 to go down if we are talking about P4P...they may never face each other in order for them to change...they may be in different weight classes.
