the reason why they chose him is cause we tend to remember whos hot at this point in time
Manny was a nobody in the early part of this decade
but because he is winning now is why he was chosen
he hasnt dominated for years like RJJ and Floyd

but props to manny for winning

The experts can vote for whoever they want. Right now Floyd Mayweather is the man at WW and he's at the top of the P4P rankings, he's #1. It's a new decade, the king is back and he re-took his thrown.

My favorite fighter, Roy Jones, won fighter of the decade for the 90s. Am I going to use that feat in arguments to say he's better than another fighter, no. I am sorry, but you will have to do better than that.

Pacquiao's last 3 fights he beat #5-6 top WW not rated at all in the top 10 P4P rankings Joshua Clottey, top 7-8 P4P & top 3 WW Miguel Cotto, # 1 JWW and not rated at all in the top 10 p4p rankings Ricky Hatton.

I am gonna have to go with Floyd Mayweather as my #1 P4P best fighter in the world.
The lineal welterweight champion who lost to Cotto, and beat a non-handwrapped Margarito. The small lightweight Marquez and he didn't even make weight, furthering the size disparity. Took 10 rounds to beat Ricky Hatton who has no defence.

Pacquiao won every round against the much bigger Clottey who almost beat Cotto in his previous fight. Absolutely dominated and ko'd Cotto, who came off a good win over Clottey. And destroyed Ricky Hatton in the second round, knocking him down twice in the first.

        Pacquiao p4p no1 >>>> Mayweather p4p no2

Just because some of the guys Floyd fought are faded or done right now doesnt mean they werent great champs when he fought them back then. Only people who have been following the sport for more than 3 years would know this

Pac is an exciting fighter for sure but hypothetically speaking he would dominate in more weight classes than Pacquiao would thats what makes him #1 to me

I still got Manny as # 1. He's earned that place even after Floyd got out of retirement.

first, Mosley was not the lineal WW champion.

second, Floyd beat Marquez at 147. Marquez was campaigning at 135 when he was p4p#2. Marquez was unranked at WW when Floyd fought him.

third, Hatton was also a former WW champion when Pac beat him. Hatton moved back down to 140 because he felt he wasn't at his best at 147. He said so himself. Hatton was unranked at WW when Floyd fought him.

forth, Clottey was 100% a top 5 WW. There is no way in hell he was #6.

fifth, Cotto was a top2 WW on top of being a top p4p fighter when Pac destroyed him. No way in hell he was #3.

sixth, Hatton was not just the #1 JrWW, he was also the lineal Champ

seventh, Hatton was definately ranking in the top10 p4p when Pac destroyed him.

eigth, Pac has fought his last 3 fights in the last 12 months. Floyd has fought his last three fights in the last 30 months.

You're comparing apples and oranges, and you're not even comparing them properly.

Yes the lineal WW champ who stopped the reigning #1 WW Antonio Margarito. Face it, Clottey, Cotto, and Hatton where they were at when Pacquiao fought them are mediocre at best. Because Pacquiao is small, they are legendary wins.

The Mosley, Hatton and De La Hoya that Mayweather fought are way better wins that Pacquiao's last 5 wins. And noticed I didn't even mentioned the, then, #2 P4P JMM because that's a mediocre win. You fill in Pacquiao arguments with his mediocre wins to make him look better. Clottey is not that big of a deal. Who did he beat, a shot Judah?
