Comments Thread For: Adamek A Heavyweight Hopeful After Decisioning Arreola

By Jake Donovan - Former lineal cruiserweight king Tomasz Adamek made his mark as a legitimate heavyweight contender Saturday evening after taking a convincing – yet poorly scored – decision win over Chris Arreola at the Citizen Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California.

The only real chance for Adamek - who at 217 lb was outweighed by more than 30 lbs - to win was to box and avoid the heavy artillery of the naturally larger Arreola. Such was the game plan, followed to a tee by Adamek for the first four rounds, though never completely let off the hook by his heavyweight contemporary. [Click Here To Read More]

Despite Adamek winning, he clearly shows why he's a small heavyweight. I think Povetkin beats him.

      Great fight.

Adamek showed he cam be a contender at HW. Arreola showed he has one hell of a chin/heart and won my respect tonight very classy in losing as well. I think Arreola will learn from this and possibly in the future become HW champ at some point. Does he need a new trainer? He needs to improve though. Great night of boxing.

I still dont think Adamek belongs at heavyweight. Arreola hurt him for like 3 rounds straight towards the end.

adamek is very small for HW. he's not gonna last that long at this weight.

Yeah Adamek was landing a lot on Arroela, and he never had Arreola seriously hurt. His power diminished a lot when moving up to HW, if he faces a boxer who's more skilled and in better shape (someone like Povetkin, Chambers, or Haye) I think he clearly loses.

Adamek fought a great fight luckily for him Arreola was not in great shape when he hurt Adamek he couldn't follow up with power punches Adamek has a little Holyfield in him he's small but has good speed a good chin has good enough power to keep most heavyweights honest and that warrior spirit in him to fight till the end

Damn, that`s a shame... I hoped that Arreola would win, cause he could be a threat to Wlad... And now... damn, Wlad demolishes Adamek...

                  Just like i called it.....

This fight went pretty much as I expected. I went 3 for 3 on my picks tonight. T.A. is THE REAL DEAL guys! I actually tried to bet on this one but had no takers. Hopefully next time fans on here won't be so quick to disrespect a fighter who prides himself on conditioning and heart like T.A. On the other hand, C.A. should retire from boxing! He use to have skills but now he is a disgrace to the sport! He lacks commitment and dedication it takes to be a world class fighter. He simply eats way to much. It was a GOOD performance by a much more dedicated fighter.
