So is Lance Armstrong. If that's all it took. But you gotta be able to fight, well enough to back Tszyu up, because the only way Hatton can fight is coming forward, and I don't believe he can back Tszyu up.

I think that describes Russell Crowe for his role in Cinderella Man, too. All that preperation stuff is well and good, if Hatton can fight with the Russian, and he can't.

We're hoping they don't, but that's what makes for rivalries.

He earns that in the ring. Had he fought Vivian Harris or even DeMarcus Corley or Sharmba Mitchell, he'd be getting respect, even if he'd lost, long as he gave us a good outing. But he has ducked those people and stayed home in Manchester and wrung out that hometown hero washcloth for all it was worth, instead of manning up and zipping over and taking his lumps under the Las Vegas lights the way Barry McGuigan did, which is why folks respect McGuigan on this side of the pond, and not Hatton.

I hate being a stinker, but I am REALLY looking forward to seeing Hatton have his arse handed to him. Then he can retire and be a commentator on Sky Sports before his brains get scrambled.

        Kostya Tszyu will win.

My heart says Ricky Hatton because he is, of course, my countryman, but you have to look at the form. I just don't see that Hatton has enough experience at this level. It's a major step up in class for him. So I am afraid my head says Tszyu wins within 5 rounds.

                  Lol!

JPW, you're probably the only one in this thread that thinks that about me, so thanks.

I just think that youth will be served in this matchup and Hatton's relentless pressure, toughness, body punching, workrate, strength, and conditioning (i.e. stamina) are going to be too much for an aging great fighter whose only fought three rounds in the last couple of years, and who hasn't had a tough test in about four or five.

Prime vs. prime, Kostya Tszyu would have no problems with Ricky Hatton's aggressive style, and would bust him up from both long range behind the jab and on the inside with the cracking uppercuts. But prime Kostya Tszyu isn't on the scene anymore (he's gotten smarter, but has slowed down in hand speed and whatnot), so I gotta go with my gut feeling on this one and go with the upset.
