Besides, why would Ward throw away all that money hes going to make in this tournament?
Maybe because HBO would pay him thrice that amount for fighting Bute?

What money? Everybody knows that the only reason this tourney got set up, is because it was done for cheep.

The real money comes in after this tourney, to whoever the winner may be. Try doing this tournament with some of the big ego's on HBO who are getting 2.5 mill just for a showcase fight.

It's not impossible that one of these guys (Ward possibly) get a big head and start thinking the risk is not worth the financial reward, and he takes his WBA belt and runs for the exit in search of bigger money fights. BIG EGO's do that.

As of right now, it's just a rumor.

But if it did happen, then I'd lose some respect for them.

Cheap? This tourney is worth a fortune. I can't remember the exact figure but think it was around 40 million euros.

I'd love to read the yank posters praise for Ward as WBA feeds him the Perdomos of the world.

Considering it's not PPV and it's on showtime, I don't know.

He is undefeated, has a world title, beat the guy considered the best talent in the tourney in Kessler and maybe doesn't think he needs to fight any of the others, who knows what his mindset is.

Some of these guys get like that. But unlike RJJ and Floyd, it's too early for that and he hasn't earned it yet to pick and choose his spots.

Maybe pretty soon, he'll start playing basketball at the day of the fight, before he faces a part time fireman/policeman.
Or maybe blown up fighters from 2 divisions below.......

Probably since he has Victor 'Balco' Conte providing 'vitamins'.

                    Makes it even more obvious.

I'd need to hear more. What Green's promoter told some danish tabloid is not much to go on. Especially when promoters are constantly throwing stuff around to keep their fighter in the press. I also have a hard time imagining Ward avoiding Green to fight Bika. Because Bika is more dangerous in my opinion.
