What your thoughts on Ricardo Mayorga and James Tony...

...venturing to the mixed martial arts world?

Lots of maa fans are saying tony is to old and some say mayorga is not a top level boxer either.

Also as boxing fans which boxer would you like to see in mma???

Mine would be a prime properly prepped (if possible) Zab Judah his dad was a 7th degree black belt in martial arts so he must know something about each art and also I have sparred with mma guys who are kickboxing specialist and I find that there footwork is lacking in my opinion

I just want to get peoples opinion on this cause it seems that cross over is becoming more and more popular and as much as mma funs like to ***** and whine boxing is a HUGE part of mma (footwork,timing,angles,distancing,territory...) boxing is more then just punching....ofcourse

I like them both, but they are both ****** and are going to get utterly embarrased if they face anyone with even mediocre all round mma skills.

As a fan of both sports I think it would be good because it could draw in more fans to MMA and to boxing.

However I don't see either of them fairing very well at all, provided their opponents don't come in and try to fight like a dumbass.

Neither of them seem to be taking it very seriously from what I can tell.

Anyone who can throw a decent, hard leg/head/body kick with good takedowns will give either of them a lot of problems.

I'm interested to see how they will do, but I'm not expecting them to do very well.

Flores is supposed to be making the move as well.

Rumor has it that Toney will be taking on Randy Couture in his debut fight. Toney is going to DIE!

I think Mayorga got a bigger chance of making it than James Toney. Toney is fat and out of shape, and ain't he like 42 or something? He's too old and too shot.

Mayorga is kinda shot too, I guess. And the guy he is fighting Din Thomas is a UFC vet, it's going to be a tough one. I'd love to see if Thomas can eat a right hand flush from Mayorga when Mayorga is wearing MMA gloves. That could probably kill a person .

That fight makes the most sense since Randy isn't going to be getting a title shot anytime soon and really has no future in MMA anymore.

Toney would likely die, but it would most likely be from exhaustion. Randy's conditioning is second to none. If he got Toney against the fence or on the ground he could pretty much do whatever he wanted to him.

If Toney were training with someone other than Juanito Ibarra, I might give him a higher chance at being more successful.

But isnt this a good match up for james tony??? think about it...

randy got koed by a sloppy loopy punches of chuck liddle twice and since james tony doesnt kick then he doesnt have to risk his balance he can focus on jabs and footwork and make randy slip up and get caught.

Blieve it or not I give james tony more chance againts couture then anyone else cause coutures not good with defending punches more so catch kicks and clinching up (ex:brandon vera and others...)

Also randy doesnt have good footwork and the only time he looked decent striking was againts tim freaking silvya
