Clottey said he wanted to fight Williams but then turned the fight down after it was offered to him for decent money ($750,000 to be exact). If Clottey wanted to fight Williams bad enough, he would've accepted the offer and he didn't. I know Mosley changed his tune a little bit it seems like. But what if he does the same thing that Clottey did?

a) It was $650,000, not $750,000.

b) The reason he felt he deserved more is that it was at extremely short notice and he didn't think he could get fit in time. Whereas Williams was already in training.

c) It wouldn't have been at 147 anyway, because Williams had been training to fight Pavlik at 160 and couldn't have adjusted in time.

You're being extremely unfair to Clottey and/or nuthugging Williams. Clottey tried to get a fight with Williams last June, before Williams had even considered a fight with Pavlik - at that time, he was in negotiations to fight Dzinziruk, not Pavlik. HBO wanted Williams to fight Clottey rather than Dzinziruk, but Williams said no, and the reason he gave was that Clottey had lost to Cotto. Considering that many thought Clottey deserved the decision against Cotto, and considering he was still the #3 ranked Welterweight at that time, and considering HBO were offering him more money to fight Clottey than they were offering him to fight Dzinziruk, that made Williams look very bad at the time. And Clottey had also tried to get a fight with Williams the previous November, but that time, HBO killed it.

I agree..his defense is a good offense. No coincidence that he moved up in weight and got dropped for the first time in his career. His frame is too wirery to take solid punches at 154 and 160.

I think he's trying to back all the WW's into a corner so that they have to fight him or look scared. However, there is no way I would drop straight down. He should fight Cintron at 54 and then go to WW in the next one

Shane Mosley already said he wants to fight him. Hes going to lose to Floyd anyway so that could be Williams next fight.
