A while back before the Pacquiao vs De La Hoya fight, Valero was interviewed about who he thinks will win. He said Oscar was not even training and that he (Valero) was beating up Oscar so bad in sparring, he was laughing, and said he was thrown out of camp for giving Oscar a beating. He predicted Pacquiao would KO Oscar. In that same Interview, somehow Mayweather's name was mentioned and Valero said (while imitating the shoulder roll), "I don't like that, I like to fight" (while making a fist). He did say Floyd is an amazing fighter.
It seems Valero changed his mind about Floyd's style after seeing him dominate Marquez so easily, the man who the majority thought out-boxed Pacquiao x2, because during the Valero vs DeMarco fight we saw Valero doing his best Floyd impression at times. I thought it was very cool to see that! After the fight Valero said, "I learned a lesson in this fight, I can't just come forward and throw, I must pace myself". In short, the lesson he learned was to be more like Floyd using movement and rolling punches, etc. It was impressive to see how humble Valero was and how he's improving and changing his style during fights.
I was thinking about this and feel his 100% KO ratio is coming at an end after his next fight. I think we're going to see a very slick Valero dominate his next opponent from round 1. If he does get a KO, I will bet the over rounds, because I think Valero "the boxer" has just matured a lot.
