Are we giving ****m Richardson too much credit for Shane?

I mean, hes a great trainer and surely an improvement in the corner from his daddy. But seeing again how Shane fought Margarito, i see nothing different from when he fought Vargas. I believe Shane just knows how to fight certain fighters, especially those who come forward plodding away, have a slow jab, flat footed and fight from the front foot.

He didnt execute that well against Cotto because he expected a brawling Cotto, and found a quick jabbing Cotto...that also maybe wasnt his best night.

    Thoughts?

in the post fight interview Shane Mosley even said himself he and Nazeem Richardson conjured up the gameplan to beat Margarito....so no, Nazeem Richardson deserves credit....he also deserves credit for busting the criminal Plastercheato

      I agree.

98% of the boxing world BUY the Margarito WIN. Marg is slow as SNAIL doesnt have the Jab. Mosley punches like a mule and if the target is a Marg a KO victory is very likely which what happened.

FLOYD via UD but still Shane has a chance. one GOOD shot can chance an entire fight.

Come to think of it, NO! I think people are on his nuts too much, because of the Margarito fight. You could see it in his eyes, when he got caught, he was completely out of the game. Plus you gotta see more than just one fight to see if he's making any difference with Shane.

IDK, he may didnt fight no different than the Vargas fight but maybe that still was just the design. If he had to fight a different style that night, maybe he couldve done it. We will never know because he turned down the Cotto rematch. Im sure he regrets that move now. I think ****m is the real deal. I think without him Floyd would kill Shane but he changes everything. With that being said, once you start losing then you will revert back to your old ways though. I actually think that he wouldve beaten Cotto the 1st time with Naz and couldve lost to Margarito without him but thats just me. Its hard to tell

ok but surely after the fight he cant say no wrong about his trainer ...as he won....

sure Naz deserves credit for the plaster affair, point taken. But his style in the fight...that was all Mosley IMO

Naazim couldnt give Benard a plan to beat Calzaghe.believe me Andre Ward would have whooped Joe's ass any day.Naazim is good but when things are not going well the way they will against Mayweather I cant see him changing the gameplan.Margarito was made to order and yes we are giving Naaz too much credit

I don't think ****m can get too much credit at the moment as he's a fantastic tactician and motivator - quite possibly the best around at the moment - however I do think his significance in the forthcoming Mosley fight may be being overstated.

He's a great asset but won't be nearly enough to beat Floyd. If Mosley does manage to pull off the win it will be primarily down to Mosley's perseverance on the night as I don't think him, Nasim and anyone else they consult can collectively out-manouvre Floyd.

Naazim didn't train Hopkins for the Joe Calzaghe. That was all Freddie Roach! Naazim was recovering from a stroke.
