I for one will not be purchasing the March 13th bout, no way I support a cheater in Margarito, or a lying money grubbing promoter like Arum. Jose Luis Castillo v Alfredo Gomez? George Foreman III? John Duddy? This fight card should be on HBO After Dark.
    Good post.

I never said that it affected him. His next bout is at 154 and that says alot. So if weight didn't matter why make it at 145? No matter what weight if Cotto didn't get him out of there early he was gonna get out sped. Pac is in the driver seat and cause the money ppl will make fighting him they will cave in into his demands.

doesnt roach say this about every overmatched opponent they face? why is this even a story? like the whole world doesnt know this a **** fight/ sparring session. even in the own mans words:"hes not that good,i gave him too much credit after seeing tapes hes not a very good fighter were knocking him out" so freddie if he isnt that good ,and we all know that; why are you guys even fighting him???nothing is being accomplished in this fight but bringin a lamb to the slaughter and lining bob arums pockets.

Or perhaps he's moving up to 154 because he knows he can't run with the top dogs @ WW but has a good chance in a new division despite being a little small.

Why are we arguing about Cotto anyways? Isn't this thread about Roach's comments about Clottey?

Clottey isn't great, however he's a legit top 4-7 WW (depending on your list) and rugged as hell. Even if Pac lands at will all night I'll still be surprised if Clottey gets KO'd. If you don't like the fight, consider it a tune-up.

EXACTLY! That was all of their plans from the beginning.
Floyd is too much of a risk for them to put their cash cow
in the ring with Floyd considering Arum is in competition
with Golden Boy anyways. Wish a lot of other people who
post could see the big picture.

Good observation this is how I predicted Cotto v. PAC. I predicted a knockout because Judah hurt Cotto bad and shouldve had a knockdown but Cotto pulled a Tito Trinidad nd hit him low. Judah has similar physical ability to PAC. I know it sounds silly but the difference is PACs amazing conditioning and willingness to mix it up and throw power punch after power punch with great precision also he has a better chin than Judah. The point being that using Judah as a comparison I see a UD for PAC. I don't think PAC will be able to break him down to the point he knocks him out but PAC unlike Judah will keep throwing and the more clotteys opponents throw the less he does.

I do agree of all available contenders Clottey does reside on the top of the WW division cause he is a difficult fighter. You brought up the Roach comment of weight. Roach at this point says anything, so if they gonna win that easy why take it. You and I know that it is not gonna be that easy for either fighter. But if you see the history of both fighters Pac is the clear favorite in this one.

In the end this is boxing and anything can happen, that is what makes the sport so exciting and you can match fighters from all corners of the world cause the rules are almost the same everywhere

i didnt see them agreeing to fight Shane either.

i think shane is more of a risk than floyd due to shanes power and ability to stand in and trade where as mayweather would be on his bicycle pot shotting the whole fight.

so they can drain him and by mid fight cotto be out of steam and have no pop on his punches..

I'm with the Joke Coach Roach on this one, Manny will probably end up knocking Clottey out. Slow moving, takes rounds off, sits on his peeka boo defense and not much power. Clottey is going to be hit all night by Pacman.
