Pointless if you can't hit the opponent though.

Floyd is a master at controlling the distance. He could actually fight Paul on the inside or the outside....he has 2 options with Paul.

Look at how easily Paul gets hit with short sharp hooks on the inside. Floyd could fight him in the pocket. Pauls arms are too big and he loops alot of punches. If floyd stepped in the pocket Paul would need to step back to get off. When he steps back and throws....Floyd will step forward and follow him and throw shorter punches. Floyd could blunt Paul's offense and take the heat out fighting him in the pocket.

Look at how long it took Paul to find his range against Martinez....3 or 4 rds. Sergio essentially fought outside and darted in quickly to deliver.

Floyd is a master at controlling distance. Paul is not an accurate puncher...he is a volume puncher. Floyd could move all night on the outside and dart in with 1 and 2 punch potshots to the body and head the way he fought Corrales in the earlier rounds. Paul following Floyd around will take out some of the advatage of fighting in a southpaw stance also. Paul essentially walks forward and throws punches in bunches. How is he going to do that against the best lateral and backward moving fighter in boxing today. As soon as he throws one....floyd will not be anywhere in the vicinity to recieve punch 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Floyd would give up 3 or 4 of the early rds......Williams would be missing so much he would begin to tire and then Floyd will start with the pot shotting.

Seriously P Williams is very beatable......its that chin that keeps him in the game....but it won't be as strong at 147 as it is at 154....and he can't wear down a fighter he can't hit. Also to answer your point...accuracy and footwork can ensure a victory for a fighter who is low volue vs one who is high volume.

Now lets look at some other welters. Josh Clottey perhaps...the man who called Williams a weak fighter at 147. See now IMO this is a guy who should avoid Paul Williams. He is flat footed and when you couple flat "footedness" with low volume against Paul you are asking for a one sided fight. Clottey holds his guard high to protect his head and body, essentially countering fighters once they come inside by timing them....sound like anyone else Paul has fought?? WINKY WRIGHT perhaps? Paul would sit on the outside and just hammer his guard with 70-80 punches a rd. Hard for Clottey to return fire because he is too flat footed when moving forward.

Conversely Clottey would match well against Mosley......u can figure that one out on your own.....
You have no idea how little you know about boxing do you?? You're so blinded by your love for Floyd you dont see the facts. Dont worry, there are many like you. There are also many like me. I hope one day he does box P. Williams. For now,it's Mosely time. Your boy better win in devestating fashion to get props from me. Eeking out a decision isnt gonna do it. When you have a mouth as big as floyd's you better be a killer in the ring. Not a chess player.

Hey Check....do you realize how much longer P. Williams's reach is than floyd's? Williams has thrown 1000 punches in a fight before. Floyd could never do that. You keep on worshiping floyd though. You *****s are entertaining.

Wow, to earn props for winning a fight you need to win in devastating fashion now?

To be the champ you have to take it from the champ! A close decision doesn't determine the better boxer IMO. You must convincingly beat your opponent.

Seriously dude......tell me why Paul will win.....don't just say he is high volume vs low volume........??? Give me an explation of how he can break Mayweather down??

How will he deal with a fighter who will not engage......? How will Paul get into his rythm against a fighter who will not engage??? He couldn't find his rythm against Quintana in the first fight. Why do you think he charged in and blew him out early in the second fight...Quintana also made the mistake of standing his ground........he knew the longer it went the more it would favour Quintana. Williams workrate went rom 80-100 punches a rd down to 50-70 a rd against Quintana. Activity is useless when a good mover can simply take it away. Thats what Sergio did until he started trading bombs in the middle rds.....mayweather will never be in Pauls hit range!!!!! P Williams is great against fighters who provide a stationary target and he is easy to hit...you know the guys who stand "WRIGHT" in front of him!!!!!!!

Against slick boxers and movers he struggles.....

this site is pure **** now. *** everyone. Floyd is fighting the best welter and everyone still giving floyd ****. Such a sad day. Even if floyd beat Dawson, everyone would discredit him. Im done with this site. You pac ******S are a disgrace, after your PIECE OF **** fighter loses, i hope you all commit suicide.... Floyd is our generation's best... he isn't afraid of drug testing and he is fighting the best. Nothing you PAC ******S can say will change many peoples opinions! This used to be the most credible site to come to in regards to boxing, but its clear 99% of the ***S here are PAC COK SUCKERS!

You feel the same way about Paul Williams as I do Mayweather. If floyd beats Shane,Pac,Cotto,Margarito and Williams I will give him his props at welter. Until then,he's a great lightweight but not welterweight.

Thats a given....his body of work is not complete at welter...for legacy purposed he needs to fight 2 or 3 of these guys:

                      - Clottey
                      - Pac
                      - Shane
                      -P Williams
                      - Berto

But trust me when i tell u styles make fights and floyds matches up[ better against paul at 147 than Mosleys or Clotteys.....or anyone else relevant at 147...
