I just watced it, Ouma won that fight especially with the knockdown. I can't believe Ouma faded in the last few rounds though, that used to be his thing a unstoppable workrate.

He won atleast the first 3 rounds, the knockdown makes it at minimum 4 rounds won for Ouma, with the extra point making a razor thin loss for him the judges are all ******ed. This happens to often in the sport.

I had Ouma winning 5 rounds plus the KD with a close decision win.

Ouma won the fight to me. It was a good fight but i feel ouma pulled that fight out. Not by a WIDE MARGIN but i still think he won

Vanes may have been the younger guy going in but he showed Ouma some veteran savvy. I give Ouma four rounds including round 9, which was a round being dominated by Vanes other than the flash knockdown. All you guys remember is how ouma would start off rounds attacking and coming forward, but vanes closed out each of those close rounds and stole rounds at the end. the fox sports commentators did no justice and seemed like they were stuck up oumas ass... it is true, im a vanes fan but I am being very objective. Ive watched the fight 4 times and ouma just didnt do enough to pull off more than 4 rounds max!!! but if you listen to the fox sports (english) commentators it sounds as though he dominated every round and Im starting to believe that you guys just listened to the fight and didnt watch it. there is lots of hating going on here vs vanes but remember this... Ouma is not the same Ouma that lost Rosado or to Saul Roman. He had moved his camp to VEgas, hired a new trainer and had come in the greatest shape of his life possibly. this new and revitalized ouma will make lots of noise in this division imo. and remember this vanes had fought less than a month ago, just to show the balls he has to get back in the ring and fight a veteran, cagey, nothing to lose veteran who is looking to get back in the mix. you tell me another highly touted prospect who has or is willing to take fights on such short notice especially with an opponent at the level of Ouma...
This was a stiff test for vanes and Im sure top rank thought they would get the ouma who looked like thrash versus bundrage and saul roman and rosado and not the one that beat the likes of verno phillips and kofi jantuah.
my score for the fight would be 95-94...(Ouma won rd1, rd 5, rd6 and rd 9) side note... all three judges gave round 9 a 10-9 round but even if you score that as 10-8 the scores still read 95-94. Im sorry, but as a challenger coming in you have to do wayyyyy wayyyyy more to earn a close decision and ouma didnt even come close.
this will be last post on this article as its getting obvious that most readers here are vanes haters and or are just ignorant boxing fans that dont deserve any attention...
