yeah... but then again... vacating the title just to fight other challenges in the same weight is synonymous to ducking... don't you think?

Lets be honest...if ortiz never got that cut and the fight went on for one or two more rounds Ortiz would have beat maidana...Ortiz wasnt himself in that fight with maidana...if he even faught with more caution he woulda ko'd maidana in the late rounds or UD him

Khan has the ability to out box Maidana but Warren and Roach will be concerned about Khan getting KOd. A fight with Malignaggi or Ortiz makes sense and is a step up in class for him with less danger. Those fights make sense but no more fights with the likes of Oisin ***an and Salita please.

Malignaggi's got an iron chin, though. He would beat Maidana simply by outboxing him, unless he gets ****** and decides to trade... which isn't a good idea, considering his own KO record. :laff2:

Ortiz, however, had a bad night. It can happen to everyone. The lad will be back, as long as his heart is in the right place (boxing-wise).

Bradley would be the next best thing (probably even better, since he's undefeated and is regarded as the truth at 140), but Ortiz and the others you've mentioned are a no-no. Khan would look like an idiot if he faced them instead of Maidana. This is the time to prove himself, not face second-tier losers.

That's too far away. He needs to fight soon, rather than wait around for unification winners. Besides, the WBA has a set timeframe in which he must make his defence. This is basically the same as Marquez-Katsidis, except that Marquez doesn't really need the belt he's currently holding.
