If Pacquiao chases Floyd around the ring does that play into Floyds style of boxing?

    Works both ways, Stewie.

"Oscar is just way too big, this fight is a joke, Oscar KO1."

"Hatton is too big and just as fast as Manny. He'll take him to hell with body punches."

    "Cotto is... (see above)."

Every time Pacquiao is about to fight, we see exactly the same posts -- they are literally interchangeable -- and every time, many of us are not only proved wrong, but made to look pretty dumb in the process.

Now, nobody is making a direct comparison between Floyd and ANY of the fighters mentioned above, but just to point it out, it works both ways. I think there is one thing most of us can agree on, though -- Floyd and Pacquiao will most likely give each other their hardest fight to date.

We can argue back and forth about what the right game plan would be, how the fight will play out, how it will end, etc., but nobody here knows better than Roach and Pacquiao who have studied Floyd for a long, long time. It's all good. We are boxing nerds and we like to analyze everything down to the last detail. None of us are 100% wrong or right, all of us will probably be proved wrong in some ways and right in others. Just don't be too confident in your opinions and predictions.

      Lol.

      Sorry.

I wouldn't get too excited, Kev, you might not be banking much at all on this fight. There will be no clear favorite, IMO.

Pac needs to find a way to keep Floyd in front of him by getting him to the ropes or staying close. If he's chasing Floyd non-stop than he'll get pot-shotted to a losing decision. If he can't keep Floyd close then he must make Floyd come to him IMO.

Of course it goes both way but i dont like to hear things like a boxer cannot another one because so so and so couldnt hurt him. Predicting a fight is totally different to someone saying Mayweather cant hurt Pac because Cotto couldnt hurt pac.

I remember a poster (Kayjay) on here saying B-Hop cant KD Calzaghe because B-hop couldnt even hurt certain fighters at 160 and what happen in the first round?? Joe got KD....A lot of people pick Oscar over Pac and i did too, I picked Pac over Hatton by KO in the middle rounds, and i picked him over Cotto in the 11th round.

Pretty much any fighter can get knocked down, especially when taken by surprise and hit from an angle they don't expect. You don't need to be a huge power puncher to do this if you have a little pop and some good speed. Since both these guys have these qualities, a knockdown for either of them (or both) wouldn't surprise me. Going back to what you said though, I really don't see Mayweather seriously hurting Pacquiao. I think he's a hell of a tough little dude, hence not being seriously hurt in almost 14 years.

If he goes down, I'm convinced he gets back up and carries on as normal. If Floyd gets knocked down, he might not be able to recover all that fast because I think Pacquiao hits hard enough to hurt him, and if that happens, he will likely pounce on him and try to finish it. It's really up in the air though, tbh. What an amazing match-up.

But anyway, I ain't getting into this. Nobody ever said Pacquiao will punch Floyd once and he will drop dead, and nobody ever made a direct comparison between Cotto and Mayweather. I can't even be bothered to read the whole thing anyway, no offense Jiddu, but my eyes are bleeding bro. Don't compare the Pacquiao that faced Marquez at 130 to the Pacquiao of today, though.
Marquez just fought Pac last March 2008.....

tell me what has been different from last March to now?...other than him fighting guys who have no right hand, cant counter and are not defensive....

what has Pac improved on from last march?
