but in PR we dont have trainers.. like for example

    nacho
    roach
    stewart

the kind of trainers that come to a fight with some HOMEWORK DONE.. some game plans good game plans... not just double your jab ****..... in round one... cotto was dominant.. but in the 2nd...puff.. there u go.. roach just come to his fighter and bring him down to earth to make him impose their fight plans....

.. all of our trainers just rely on the skills and powers of our boxers....
thats what I ment.. not because of last saturday results.. but because... of the history....

I can't believe that, PR has a long tradition of great fighters and I'm sure there is some quality trainers there. If what you say is true, then maybe Cotto should move to Mexico and train with someone there.

There are many, many great trainers in Mexico, I also think Cotto's style would fit the type of boxing that is taught in Mexico. Classic defense, with an agressive, pin point offense that wears down fighters. I think his defense would improve much more. I wouldn't mind seeing what Nacho could do with Cotto now that I think about it.

PR have had a lot of elite boxers. Maybe some of them had flaws in terms of skill/technique, but Calderon developed great skills in PR.

There are lots of boxers who have been great despite never working with a great trainer.
      no denial on that!!

what we dont have is an elite trainer...

I just don't see Cotto swallowing his pride and moving to Mexico to train. PLus, the PR people would probably disown him for being a traitor....lol

Cotto only goes to Mexico if there's some partying involved, other than that

yeah imagine if cotto were under nacho. he'd polish his counters more and probably be not wide open when he throws those lethal lefties. nacho might've made more use of his right, it's almost useless.

Mellow, Pai, we have some great trainers like Felix Pagan Pintor, Che Che Sanchez, Evangelista, Freddie Trinindad, ect, ect, ect.

I think the problem is discipline and change, Most PR elite fighters are not open for chages, whether they are style wise or adding somebody new to the team or firing somebody, because they are friends.

                    Look at this example.

Evangelista is like 20 times a better and plan developer than DOn Felix, but look how far Don Felix took Tito because Tito was willing to listen and let his dad run the show. You cant say the same about, who have a control and ego problem. If he would had let Evangelista run the show from the beggining he would have been a different story.
