Not to take anything from miguel cause he indeed had class.
I thought that Manny could have won the fight with outjabbing, outmanouvering and outDirreling Cotto... I thought, that would be the only possible way for him to win... But what absolutely amazed me, was that he took the best shots from the heavier man (who was the puncher himself) and outpowered Cotto... He (hopefully legally) stopped a top WW and one of the best fighters of recent years who had only one stoppage loss before (which could have been illegal)...

Props to Manny and Freddie Roach! They are an incredible tandem!

As for Miguel Cotto! I wondered for a long time whether the Margarito loss took away from him. Today i`ve got the answer - yes, it did. And Manny took away everything that was left...

I think the best option for him right now is to fight Hatton for a big payday! That would be a slugfest...

if welter is from 141 to 147 then whats the point in a catchweight?? manny should have had no problem then with cotto fighting at 147 and not make him come down,,,i don't buy that argument...it seems to me like manny makes his opponents come down to get that extra advantage,i also don't think it's fair that if you ask for a catchweight, both should make the 145 limit, not just cotto and manny come in lighter...

Just one thing I don't understand. Mark Vester talks about seven titles in seven weight classes. Most of the media talk about seven weight classes.

Well, flyweight, super bantamweight, super featherweight, lightweight and welterweight. I can only make that five. Or six if you want to count the IBO title at lightwelterweight.

          What have I missed here?
The Ring and Lineal titles at Featherweight and at Jnr Welterweight. Which are worth more than all of the alphabet belts combined.

I have a hard time taking it seriously. And this is not to say anything bad about Pacman, because what he has achieved is incredible.
All of the alphabet titles combined are worth a million times less than the Lineal and Ring titles, and that's what Barrera and Hatton held. You're hung up on meaningless silverware. In boxing, by definition, there can only be one world champion at a given weight, and that champion is the Lineal champion. Barrera and Hatton were both Lineal champions.

It is true what teddy atlas says cotto was finished after the whooping he took from margarito. Cotto has crossed the line of no return. He is my second favorite fighter but he has to retire. He s had a great career ducked no one but the punishment he has endured has cought up to him.
i kinda disagree!!! I think he got a few good wins left in him!

If Cotto still wanted to fight, he could have at least argued with the ref, but he didn't. Hope you listened/watched the post fight interview in the middle of the ring where Cotto said, "Manny is one of the best [welterweights he has ever fought]."

Pacman is a beast, admit it.
