    My Mayweather Thoughts

If you are real on here then you know that Im real about Floyd. Im not a Floyd homer that takes up for him no matter what, Im not a Floyd hater who bashes him no matter what, and Im not a Floyd fan who jumps ship when they think others are getting the best of him only jump back on the wagon again later.

I seriously think that the hate he is getting on here by fans, media, mainstream, and boxers is unwarranted. Ive said it before and Ill say it again. The only questionable fight I ever thought he had was the Bruseles fight. Every other fight he has was super legit to me and even moreso, the reason why he didnt fight guys is legit but no one wants to hear that. They just look at it as if you dont fight a guy then youre a *****.

Breaking down his career I think even the haters have to aknowledge he was a beast guy who fought all the best until JLC 1. That fight was a close fight that I clearly thought he won but people wont him to lose so bad that any close fight will go against him. Still, he maned up and gave JLC the rematch immediatly. Alot of people forget that JLC got hurt right before the rematch and the fight was postponed. In the meantime Floyd tried to still fight a top notch guy like Lazcano who was very highly regarded at the time but Juan turned it down. Floyd couldve easily had ditched the JLC fight after the injury but he waited until he was healthy and took the rematch. I remember Max on FNF's saying that if Floyd had pulled out with that injury like JLC did then everyone would be ripping him. Floyd stayed and won a clear decision.

After that fight he fought a tough guy in Sosa in a fight that everyone felt Floyd deserved to take after all the tough guys he had fought. Recently Floyd had just fought a Chico at SFW who was coming in the ring at 147 pounds, JLC at LW who was coming in the ring at 148 while Floyd was 138 for both fights. He then took on a very good guy in N'Dou who alot of people picked to beat Floyd and gave him praise for his performance. Again, alot of people dont want to aknowledge the fact that Floyd tried to make a fight with the undefeated Freitas but was turned down. Alot of people say that Floyd shouldve fought Casamayor but why fight him after Freitas just beat him and was popular? The big fights were Naz before he left SFW and Freitas before he left LW and both turned him down along with Lazcano. That cant be disputed.

He then moves to SLW and fights a very good Chop Chop in his 1st fight. A slick boxer who was a legitmate world champ with a good resume and recently lost to Zab in a close fight while having not lost before that in years. Floyd recently just had the exciting fight with guys like Chico, Manfredy, Chavez, and was just coming off of another super exciting fight with N'Dou. He again had an exciting fight with Chop. Again at SLW he's only coming into the ring at 138 pounds. I clearly remember articles after the JLC fight where many media people said that Floyd doesnt have the body to move up in weight and will never win titles in many divisions because he is too frail. He then had the fight with Bruseles that I said he could be ripped for. He couldve takened a Vivian Harris fight but at that time Floyd had his eye on the prizes and that was Gatti & Oscar. He was saying non stop back then that he felt like he was making slave wages, Arum was taking more than he should for not fighting, and he never promoted him like he did others and never put him on PPV. Thats why I think he didnt want the Harris fight.

You also have to remember that the WBO President and Hatton's father both admitted that Floyd asked to fight them in his very 1st fight at SFW. Again, no one talks about that anymore. Everyone tries to bash him for making little Hatton move up to fight big bad Floyd but Floyd tried to fight big bad Hatton in England when he was moving up from LW. Gatti also wanted no part of Floyd but was forced to fight him if he wanted to keep the belt. Floyd again had another exciting fight. This is for all the people who said the guy is so boring. He had many exciting fights up until then and stopped alot of guys. Because he's Floyd, no one will give him the benefit of doubt but I still maintain to this day that if Tsyzu beat Hatton then Floyd wouldve fought him next. People have to remember that Floyd had a contract with HBO and Tszyu had one with Showtime. Both guys were elite but not super money guys. Remember everyone was saying that no one except a Lewis-Tyson fight could get Showtime & HBO to split money.

However, the Hatton fight was Tsyzu's last fight in the contract and after that Showtime openly said that they are going to single fight deals. That made it super easy to now make Floyd-Tszyu and both guys talked alot about the fight. Pretty much everyone thought Tszyu would win. In that regard Floyd has had very bad luck. Naz, Lazcano, & Freitas turned him down. Hatton turned him down in his 1st fight and the JLC injury left Floyd sitting out for a minute. If all those things fall into place then Floyd couldve fought Naz at 128 in his very next fight after Chico, then Chavez, then JLC, then JLC again 4 months sooner if he doesnt have that injury, Sosa, N'Dou, Hatton in his very 1st fight, Gatti, then Tszyu. The only reason why Floyd even fought Bruseles is because the WBC kept allowing Gatti to ditch the Floyd fight. Now Floyd moves up to WW. Spinks was recognized by everyone is the true WW champ and Zab beat him. Floyd & Zab started beefin. Everyone was talking about a Zab vs Floyd fight. Both guys were basicaly having a tuneup. Zab vs Baldy and Floyd fighting Mitchell because he's a slick Southpaw just like Zab and it helps him have 1 fight to get use to WW.

Both guys had already signed the fight. Everyone knew it but no one talks about that now. Zab lost to Baldy in a disputable fight but Floyd still fought him next because the fight was signed. Everyone clowned Floyd and said that he should fight the real WW champ. He did that and beat him. If you look at all of that, his career is totally fine to me up until that point and it should be fine to everyone else unless you are a die hard hater. To take it to another level the man challanges Shane Mosley and says that he wants Mosley than Oscar. This is while Mosley is at 154 and just beat Vargas the 1st time. Even before there rematch Vargas camp admitted that Floyd said he wants the winner even if its Vargas but Vargas team said they werent interested. Oscar comes around and agrees to fight Floyd. Floyd moves up and takes all the shorts because the money is just too good. After that he fights Hatton because the guy is an undefeated and its another big money fight. Again, you cant knock him for any of those fights. Now comes the tricky part. Theyre is Cotto & Margarito there who wants a Floyd fight but he elects to retire.

    Part 2

Now Im a Floyd fan but I admit that he mostly retired because there werent really any other fights except the Cotto & Margarito fight and Floyd wanted no part of them. That makes him a ***** in the eyes of everyone and its black & white but I dont look at it that way. I look at it as Floyd was only coming into the ring at 146 pounds at that time while the other WW's were coming in at 159-170 pounds and most were atleast 162. Why do people act like that doesnt matter? Again, I think Floyd beleived that he could beat them but he also felt that he could lose simply because he wasnt big or strong enough to compete and he didnt want to lose that way. Thats why he said that he will retire from boxing before he lets boxing retire him. Its not that he's just plain scared of those guys or scared to lose the 0 but he's not going to be dumb and take fights where he doesnt think he can really fight his normal way, e****ally if its not for super money fights like Oscar. I have no doubt that if Floyd was a natural WW or was coming into the ring at even 155 then he wouldve takened the fight but he wasnt.

Floyd shutout Baldy but you could clearly see that Baldy was walking through his shots and pushing him back whenever he wanted. You think Floyd didnt see & feel that and think about how a Margarito or Cotto fight wouldve went? He's not dumb. He wouldve been foolish to fight those guys and I think people should understand that. Again, people hype up these guys for taking tough fights but not a single one of them was dealing with a situation like Floyd. Pac fought a ton of guys but he was the bigger man in nearly every fight until recently and even then, he's still been basically the same size. Again, he was coming into the ring at 147 at SFW. Thats how he can move up in weight so easily because he was already a big strong guy. Even moving up he hasnt fought any guy who was bigger. Oscar was the only guy who was supposed to clearly be bigger but instead he was drained and came into the ring literaly just one pound bigger. Pac was clearly the stronger man against the zombie. Diaz was a LW but again, Pac was already coming in the ring at 147 at SFW. Hatton was basicaly the same size as Pac was 148 and Hatton was 149.

JMM was fighting guys all his size. The same with EM & MAB. Who has Cotto fought that he should fear? They are all his size and until recently, he was much bigger. The same for Margarito, Clottey, and so on. Why should they fear someone when they are all the same size? Floyd wasnt. They were all clearly bigger & stronger at that time. He took 2 years off and came back. He will never be as big as the others but now I think he feels like he's physicaly much more capable of fighting those guys than he was before they retired. The bad news is that Mosley is neariing 40 while Williams, Margarito, Clottey, and Cotto all have been dusted since then. That makes it look like Floyd waited for them to slip until he came back but really he was just waiting until his body matured more. Even so, he wouldve been a fool to fight a Mosley in his 1st fight back. You guys think he's ******. Why do that? Again, its not like he was a normal WW who retired and came back. He wasnt. He was coming in like a 140 pounder. Thats why you fight a guy like JMM in your 1st fight. Its the #2 guy in the world and physicaly you ease back into things.

Now after that fight people are still ripping him before he's made a next move. I keep telling everyone that he's not afraid of these guys. He's not even really afraid physcialy anymore. Still, he's not going to be dumb enough to fight one of them before the Pac fight is off the table. He has to wait and see. Thats why I dont get all the hate for the guy before the Pac-Cotto fight even happeneds. Atleast let him pick his next opponent. It will definatly be either Pac, Berto, Mosley, Clottey, or Cotto. If Cotto wins then I could see Floyd going straight to Cotto or Mosley but I could also see him saying that he needs 1 fight against a WW before he fights those guys. Still, if he went that route he would still fight a Berto or Clottey instead, not some little guy or some bum. In his very next fight without a doubt he would then fight Cotto or Mosley and probably the other guy right after that. Its that simple. Stop ripping the guy for not fighting big WW's in there 1st division while he looked like a little weak boy coming in the ring 15 pounds less and not having the benefit of being a lefty to have an advantatge. Stop ripping him for what he's doing now when he hasnt even made a move yet. He's going to fight these guys but be fair and stop thinking he has to fight Mosley before the Pac fight is off the table. He would be a fool to do that

        EXCELLENT post my dude.

This is what I been trying to say to some of these cats. But you went far more in depth.

Don't expect this thread to end well though...or more probably, expect it to be ignored. Because Floyd haters aren't particularly keen on facts or even reading, generally.

Also Bruselles was supposed to be a leadup to a Cotto fight, cuz Brusselles was the one that sparred with Cotto. Cotto even picked Brusslles to BEAT Mayweather, if people recall.

But after Floyd completely dominated Brusselles...surprise surprise, the fight didn't happen.

            Yes, Great post.

in addition Floyd retired to gradually become a true welter weight because his training wouldn't allow it to happen on the hurry.

"Floyd is a *****, we know. But let us just play with him for as long as we can. We don't have a father, so in this day and age of consumerism, voyeurism, and all around faqqotry, please just let us taste his ass any way we want while we bump Kanye Wests greatest hits mashed up with a slice of Boy George"
