thought i remember Pavlik's people wanting to push the will fight back a few weeks? they refused from what i remember? not that i blame them with all the on again off again. it's better for kelly to get a tune up after all this time off anyway, and than get a big fight with will or the like in the spring.

Kelly may have recovered from his infection last week. The week of Nov 1st - Nov 7th. That would have given him FOUR weeks training for Williams if they had not cancelled the fight.
This new fight is a further 2 weeks down the road, giving him six-seven weeks training for a low level fighter.
I don't believe Kelly ducked Williams. I REALLY don't. And I am a fan of BOTH fighters.
If you saw any of the press conference videos of Kelly you would see how amped he was for the fight and how confident he appeared of beating Williams.
Its boxing. It can happen. Everyone is human and we can be injured...
Now what IS unfortunate is that I have never heard of this opponent and this random dude will get a crack at the Undisputed MW Championship...and on Top Rank PPV...

I realy can't figure how any real fan of Boxing could say that one pro fighter is afraid of the other. These guys fight for a living, there not regular people when it comes to confrontation...It just makes no sense to me at all.
So Kelly Pavlik has fought guys that hit much harder then Paul Williams and was in the ring with B-Hop,but he's afraid of PW's.Do the math peeps.

Here's something I posted in another thread about this situation.
You're right, he did something worse. Personally I believe the exaggeration of the hand injury was a lot worse, then how the hand actually was. The photo was from about a month ago, we have no idea what the hand looks like now. First they said it was healing up great, but then magically it became a lot worse again. Now it's suddenly a lot better.
Plus Pavlik pulled out on October 21, 2009. Here was a quote about the hand:
"It's the same finger giving him problems. They told me he can't make a fist," Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said. "It's getting better and better but it's going a little slow. So, we'll see."
"We're fighting," said Cameron Dunkin, Pavlik's co-manager. "I have the contract here. The hand is good. He did therapy today and he ran today. The therapy, after three sessions, the hand has gotten much better. [The first] is still not closed all the way, but it's so much better. It's really good news. He just can't wait to fight. He really misses this.
Well if he needed another weeks, here's another idea, why didn't they move the Diaz-Maliganggi fight to December 5th and then move Pavlik Williams to December 12th? But oh no, of course Pavlik had to fight on December 19th because that's the date he'll get magically better by and HBO doesn't have a TV date for the 19th.

So how long have they been in negotiation with Espino for??? Last week Jack leow was on boxing talk saying Pavlik is out for a while etc, Not sure when pavlik would comeback because he cant make a fist.
This is a bitchh move and so say i defend this guy twice, I have never known a guy that has went from been on top of the world to rock bottom in a short while like Pavlik.
