    Pavlik vs Espino Set For December 19, Top Rank PPV

    WBC/WBO Middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik has, according to various reports, recovered from his staph infection and plans to defend his titles against Miguel Espino of "The Contender" fame on December 19 in the headline bout of a show that takes place in his backyard of Youngstown, Ohio. Pavlik had been scheduled to face Paul Williams on December 5 but withdrew, for the second time, with the lingering staph infection. Williams will now face Sergio Martinez on the same date.     I really dont get this..they would have been better off just waiting a little longer..Pavlik gonna get so much flak for this ..

      If this is for real I'm seriously going to have to think about ditching Kelly. Its sad to say it but I just don't think I can stand by a fighter that pulls that sort of crap. I hope it isn't true.

        In all fairness Pavlik was clearly dissapointed in the cancellation and wanted to keep the fight on a later day.

        Williams couldn't afford to wait and walked away which you certainly cannot blame him for.

        Pavlik wants to be in the ring ASAP regardless of what anyone may think and he likely was told he could fight on Dec. 19th or wait until February.
