Saying that he fought Hagler only because Hagler lost a step is not true. Leonard had an eyeinjury (detached retina) that prevented him from taking the fight sooner. Besides Leonard didn't force Hagler to fight at a catchweight.... Add also that Leonard was a heavy underdog and that he was going up against the monsterman, a top 3 all-time middleweight, while Leonard himself was a 154 lb'er at most.
It is true he said it himself that Hagler slowed, who says Leonard would have taken that fight sooner you can not say that for certain he was not obliged to move up to a weight he was never close to fighting at to fight a bad ass. Hagler was all those things and Leonard looked like **** in his comeback years before. If Leonard did not think he could win he would not have taken that fight point blank.

I stand by what I said the arcs of their careers are similar even though Leonards is more impressive

I'm not kidding pac, this is literally the best interview ever. People gotta learn a lesson and stop asskissing when interviewing fighters.

I like how RA even took the highroad at the end when Floyd called him a *****. He didn't even entertain it and put the whole thing in perspective.

        Floyd is soooo emotional, lol...

Well, his next opponent is either Pac or Cotto.

That is what I anticipate (not "expect").

I hope it's the winner also if the winner happens to be Cotto.

That fight is obviously fine with me. Let's see if Floyd can wait as long as it would take for that fight to materialize.

Even if Leonard out of his own mouth said he took the fight then because he saw Hagler didnt look as good?

Those were some hard hitting questions for Floyd, no doubt.

And Floyd gets very heated when confronted with certain questions.
I think he can be more diplomatic, as he can be, and just handle those volleys like a true champ, without having to get all riled up.

There's no doubt the negotiations with Arum won't be easy and may simply fall apart. But he can face other fighters not connected to Top Rank and remain on top while they vie for his title.

Although he's accomplished much in the sport and is already a lock for HOF, I'm still waiting for him to make good on his "List".

He wants to be considered "The Best Ever", and he should face the top talent out there to convince more boxing enthusiasts of that claim. If he leaves the sport without making a good faith effort to fight legit comp now that he's back, his legacy will, no doubt, be questioned and he'll be relegated to monikers like "Great fighter who could've been the best ever."

If money is the only thing that matters most to him at this point, then his self-proclamation as "Best Ever" will only be in his mind and heart. At that point, what his fans and others want to see are just an afterthought to him, and he might be complacent with that much in his life.

                  Let's see what 2010 brings.
