Cotto made $2 million, and Clottey made $800K- 1 mil.

Considering that the money came from Miguel (where was the fight?), that was a very high payday for Cotto,
..and Clottey is coming off a loss.

This fight won't have 16,000 people at MSG.

Do you understand how the sport works?

HBO wants to show Pual Williams fight, that is bringing a lot of money to the table. Sometimes you got to take short money to really advance into bigger money, although Williams is a very bad matchup for Clottey.

Is HBO paying the same amount that it was paying for Pavlik-Williams?

No way they were paying over 3 million, 2 maybe and that would be real high 1.75 seems better.

I was thinking around 1.50-1.75... If it is under 2mil then 650k is pretty good pay for Clottey. Especially coming off a loss and he is not even a huge draw. I would like to hear from his side on why he turned it down. I kinda think that the problem is the 154lbs. And, maybe he wanted more money for going up to 154...

Paul Williams is a terrible matchup for him, 67/33 is a fair enough spilt but Clottey does not want to lose again and that is not a fight he is likely to win. He wants more money to take that high risk of catching a loss.

damn that took you long enough which one is it 800k or one million i know those are small numbers when you just type them on the computer but thats a 200k diff i dont understand what kind of buisness man throws out his highest offer first when negotiating and then stops after that obviously goosen and his team are either not very interested in making the fight come off or have unusual ways of negotiating a fight contract dan goosen is a manager and you would think there would be more then a one offerwhen you are NEGOTIATING a deal but lets wait and see what will happen they might just be weighing their options on both sides and this fight might get made

I know is a terrible match up. But, anything could happen that is why they fight the fights. And, Clottey does not seem to me like he is afraid of loosing. Plus what other options does he have? The only thing that I could see in the horizon for him is a Margarito rematch. But, I doubt he would get even close to this type of money... IMO he has a problem fighting at 154. I really want to hear his side...

Maybe if they offered him the same amount and at 147 he will take it. However, P-Will would be IMO in a disadvantage. P-Will should just fight Martinez at 154...

Clottey is not in a position to DUCK anybody.....he's not a champion or P4P ranked!!!......Cotto and Margarito have been the WW BEAST and BEST for the past few years......its funny how dudes like Clottey and Mosley have fought these BEAST but are being accused of duckin' the dude that lost his "0" to Quintana .......come on man!!

Paul Williams is a delusional goofy turd.He is under the impression that he some sort of star now that he managed to gain a decision over a rusty, inactive, near 40 year old man

And you base this off of Paul Williams outworking a rusty,37 year old Winky Wright, who hadn't fought in almost two years? Great reasoning to your argument....idiot.

You moron,Clottey has wanted Piss Dub for over a year now and Piss Dub,supposedly the "most avoid man in boxing" has never got back to him.Did you not read what it said? It has yet to be confirmed, meaning that as usual, boxingscene has no real source to validate their ****** claims.

Williams is ducking Clottey and will continue to do so
