Wilder coming off a bad (really bad) KO loss to Zhang needs a confidence-booster tune-up.
It also gets him a glimmer of media exposure as a recent winner rather than a recent loser.

You don't think Whyte is shot? Did you not see his last fight vs the slowest heavyweight ever in Ebenezer Tetteh?
There is nothing"really bad" about that KO loss; don't exaggerate it. It was a KO loss no worse than Whyte's KO loss to Fury. Whyte's next fight afterwards was against undefeated Jermaine Franklin Jr.

In fact, there is no KO loss whatsoever that warrants a former champ to take a tune-up fight against someone with Harper's record; that's the point.

A really bad KO loss is what AJ suffered in the hands of Dubois. He couldn't even get off the ground and his team has already jumped into the ring to help him even before the ref waved it off, unlike the cases of Wilder and Whyte, where both men beat the count.

Regardless, would you have kept the same energy if AJ's next fight was against Harper? Do you in your wildest imagination believe AJ's or Parker's (if he suffers a similar fate vs DDD) next fight will be against someone like Harper?

My point is, nothing whatsoever justifies a Harper fight. Other "top" fighters are not doing such things, so Wilder should be called out while we commend others for not doing so instead of lashing out at them for no good reason.

As for being shot or not, I am not one of those who jump into conclusion that a fighter is shot just after a fight or two, let alone after a tough fight (tough here applies only to Wilder's case). Both Whyte and Wilder are not shot in my opinion. Wilder's case was that he went off the PBC roaster due to Saudi money and would have lost to both men at any time in his career. (I was one of the few on this site who predicted both loses.)

As for Whyte, his last meaningful fight was against Franklin. I believe if a real test presents itself going forward, he would up his preparation and his game accordingly. We all saw his performance against Wach after a failed drug test similar to the current situation, and every one called him shot afterwards, which wasn't the case as shown against Povetkin(2x) and Franklin.

Whyte looks absolutely washed, AJ is damaged goods but he still deals with Whyte comfortably.

I agree, but it won't drop for some diehards who don't get or won't accept how easily Joshua was just brutalised and KO'd again , Whyte just looks old and fat. As you say if it's down the card okay ...but we know it will be sold much differently. Some idiots will fall for it I'm sure of that.

Why did you say Dillian Whyte is coming off a drugs ban when he hasn’t had a drugs ban?

Some forget that Whyte was banned for taking drugs in 2012 for TWO years , he was suspended in 2019 but reinstated five months later as the findings were low. He failed another drugs test aug 23 , it seems like he's had some bad luck !

If they're hoping to cash in on one last multi-million dollar payday against a "comeback" bound Fury; Whyte presents too big a risk.

Jarod Miller the prospect from Ohio lost a fight to Bakole... You can look it up I am sure. It does get confusing because there are two fighters using the moniker "Big Baby" and I believe they both might even have the same last name.

Wilder certainly did when he fought Fury. No, Not putting him at the top other than to say he fought a strong fight against Fury technically he got a draw... Not even saying that matters. But it is relevant here. How you choose to see AJ can be either as another fighter who fought and lost against a strong top level guy, in similar fashion to Wilder, (again discounting the tehcnicality of Wilder's draw), or not... either way AJ has more similarity than difference to Wilder... see how that works?

What does that have to do with the fact you've just said he was on a drugs ban, when, he was not on a drugs ban?

Considering Joshua's perspective, Dillian White and Deontay Wilder are his best options right now.

There is Joyce, Sanchez, Ortiz, Hrgovic out there but he probably would not get motivated for these bouts.

                    Parker and Kabayel are busy.

I doubt he fights Wardley, Zhang, Bakole, Dubois, Miller, Jalolov.

Bakole never lost to any Miller
Couldn't find anything about it and I’m still dumbfounded how Hunter beat Bakole
