    Wilder deserves more respect

People forget he started boxing to pay for his daughters medical care.

No he didn't have great skills but he had power and a real reason to fight, for better or worse he made it pretty far on just that.

He was similar to Fury in that once he got too much fame and money it had a negative effect on him, it goes like that sometimes.

Before he won the WBC Wilder was actually a pretty likeable guy, he was polite and friendly, he came across well in interviews unlike now.

While I do have negative opinions of him over more recent years, I still don't forget why he started, it'd be hard to find a more honourable reason, and I'm glad that he made enough money not to have to worry about paying for his daughters healthcare anymore.

Personally I don't think he should carry on, like Fury I think the sport itself and chasing fame and money has a negative effect on him.

The guy who dedicates 90% of his posting to hating on Usyk makes a thread to defend Wilder. You can't make this **** up

I was one the first, if not the very first, poster on NSB to say he was going to go far in the sport, and one day people would eat their words. I would argue with people all day that once Wilder stepped up, he would win.

But given his conduct the past few years, he actually deserves less respect than he gets. Accusing Mark Breland of spiking his water? Refusing to show Fury respect after Fury soundly beat him? Talking about killing guys in the ring?

He's a man with no class, no dignity and no shame.

I'm thinking Will O the Wisp, maybe? Huge Fury and Wilder fanboy, has been very quiet since Usyk beat the crap out of Fury twice.

Although I personally agree with the sentiment. For someone who came to boxing late and didn't have the technical skills, he had a pretty decent career from the money and fame perspective. Not the most skilled, nor does he have a great resume, but I had fun watching many of his fights.

werent you mostly wrong? besides ortiz he lost to every other good fighter. i think the people who were saying he is artificially extending his 15 minutes of fame by fighting weak competition were almost dead on. now you can see wilder fans scrambling saying "oh he was shot when he fought all those good fighters" which doesnt hold any water since he ko'd helenius easily, and even if that were true its his fault for staying on the sidelines for so long not fighting the best...100 million rejected ha
