Matchroom Boxing has announced the signing of 2024 Olympian Nishant Dev, whom promoter Eddie Hearn believes could become India's first boxing superstar.

Dev was a top amateur who only really lost to the top guys in close fights (SD/MD) e.g. Omari Jones, Marco Verde (he also holds a win over Verde) and world #1 Shymbergenov at the World Amateurs where he won Bronze.
If he can realise his potential, Hearn would've struck gold.
Slow Eddie thinks he can turn 1.4m people in India onto boxing. Good luck with that. The FA have spent millions trying to get Indians interested in football with very little result. That isn't how it works. 'Tyson Fury to fight Antony Joshua in Delhi' will be overwhelmed by 'Jasprit Bumrah injured, may miss test".
What makes this a good move for this lad is not signing for match room, which is an excellent move by the way. Earn with hearn is actually very accurate in pro boxing. No what jumped out of this article to me was this lad signed up by Brian Peters. Brian Peters is probably the best Manager you could have in boxing today. Eddie won't get this lad cheap when Brian Peters is in the room during money negotiations. This fighter may not become an undisputed champion but he will get very rich if he stays with Brian Peters.

Very interesting…I expect Dev to win an international/intercontinental title at the MINIMUM but believe he has the potential to do even better.
Anyway, if Peters signed him then he must be good. Watch this space.
