Amazon Prime is a great platform but I don't think they were planning to significantly back the fights from a financial perspective (venue, purses, etc) for PBC. From what I understand, it was primarily going to be a PPV platform for PBC stars with the occasional free card.

Rick Glaser intimated that Amazon Prime was getting cold feet with their PBC partnership due to PBC's lack of financial backing. Glaser suggested Amazon may want boxing content provided from a different promotional company (perhaps Top Rank?).

I don't say any of this with bias against PBC, I would like to see them do well (as I would like every promotion do well), I want more live boxing content accessible to fans. I just have doubts and concerns about this particular relationship.

As for Paul/Tyson, that was a circus event for Netflix (similar to the Chestnut vs Kobayashi hot dog eating contest they aired live). I'm not sure traditional boxing will bring in the numbers or the buzz like that.

Haymon doesn’t have the money to overpay his fighters for once a year showcase fights anymore. He doesn’t have the Saudi connections that DAZN has.

Boxing isn’t a priority for Amazon and it shows.

ESPN seems one foot out the door. Neither Paramount nor Pea**** look to be interesting in taking on a lot of boxing content. That leaves DAZN....not alot of good options.
Paramount is a sister of CBS and they stated long ago they were out ( Showtime and even this sight were done )
ESPN also are not renewing with Bobfather and Top Rank
They from what I know are in negotiations with Netflix who are moving fast to reach what Prime is doing as of late

Very few television companies are interested in boxing anymore. According to Rick Glaser ESPN and top rank are done. So really all that you have left is dazn and you also have Amazon Prime and maybe Netflix but I think they will only be in at a very small scale. No one buys pay-per-view anymore and that is a good thing. Boxing needs to have a different business model. They need to stop over paying Fighters

Netflix seems to be going full force having gotten their beak wet ( $$$$$ ) with mvp
Top Rank in full negotiations with them

I thought it already got confirmed that Top Rank was fully joining DAZN.

As for PBC, the Amazon Prime deal isn't really that big if they aren't providing funding for the cards and just providing a PPV platform, which seems like it is just that. Looking back, how did it go in hindsight and would 2025 be better or worse?
                2024:
Mar 30th- Tszyu vs Fundora, Rollie vs Pitbull (PPV)
May 4th- Canelo vs Munguia (PPV)
Jun 15th- Tank vs Martin, Benavidez vs Gvozdyk (PPV)
Sep 14th- Canelo vs Berlanga (PPV)
                Oct 19th- Tszyu vs Murtazaliev

                2025 plans so far:
Feb 1st- Benavidez vs Morrell, Figueroa vs Fulton (PPV)
March?- Tank vs Roach (probably PPV)
???- Fundora vs Spence? (likely PPV given the lack of fighters)

Canelo's contract seems to be over and Tszyu will need some rebuilding before they can main event him, but what are they gonna do for the 2nd half? Hope for another Tank fight and winner of the Davids?
