I see your point but there are Mexicans who don't support Canelo no matter who he fights. There are Mexicans who never supported Oscar because he wasn't born in Mexico and was American of Mexican heritage. Because Benavidez was born in the States, it's a possibility that Mexican won't support him any more than they'll support Morrell..

Sure, some donīt support Canelo but most do, even the haters if he faces a non Mexican. Most Mexicans supported Oscar, just that the ones in Mexico said he was not born in Mexico but thatīs irrelevant because Both his parents were and he waved the Mexican flag when he won the gold medal. Also it doesnīt matter to most Mexicans if you were not born in Mexico, a family in the US can have a brother born in Mexico, one in the US, one illegal, one with a green card, etc in the same family, that does not make them different. If you are Chinese and for some reason are born in Mexico, you will be called chino, not Mexican. That is a state of mind. You think all French people consider the Africans playing in the national soccer team as French?? Many donīt it doesnīt matter if they were born in France. I'm gonna respectfully disagree. I remember the Mexicans hating Oscar, a friend of mine was always rooting against him when he fought Ruelas, Chicanito and Chavez. It wasn't until he started fighting against AA that he started getting more support from Mexican Americans. But most of the support Oscar received was from Americans and Mexican Americans in East LA/Boyle Heights area. Many Mexican Americans in south central despised Oscar..
