I disagree with some of this. Fury got to wlad first so I would put that as the biggest win either of the two had. Say what you want about wilder, but you acknowledge that he will probably get I the hall which means fury has two wins bigger than anything Joshua has other than his wlad win. Throw in Joshua’s sort of bad losses and I think fury clearly has the better resume.
Well like I said, Wilder had no CV and his reputation finally diminished when the inevitable happened.
But, yes still an important fight in the context of this era and strengthens Fury's case.
I didn't agree that HoF is purely about the peak performance of your career and the losses. That's very convenient to Fury and condones the avoidance tactics many do now. The depth of Joshua's resume matters too.
I really liked vitali ,i even had him beating lewis ,until the cut on his eye ,not much different the otto did to fury ,they let that one continue, i knew immediately, lewis would not give him a rematch ,a very underated champion
If you mean a prime Lennox beats a prime Vitali (a 50/50 proposition), then I could see that. I think the world of Usyk and have no problem saying he is my HW Champ through and through. But a prime Lewis has a better than 50% chance with Usyk because he more than compensates for Fury's deficits and very nearly has Fury's size and reach advantages. Not a slamdunk but it would be so very competitive. I think Lennox flies under the radar these days as an ATG because he didn't really have a larger-than-life persona. But jaysus, he took care of bidness in the ring.
I mean prime Vitali beats everyone. In my book he is the last man standing. If they were gladiators he is the only one that survives at the end. Second is Lewis and third and fourth I would let Usyk and Wlad fight for it.
Chris Byrd should be higher on the list he deserves to be above a lot of those listed.
I don't see how Wilder ranks above him sure title defences play some part but he was infinitely more skilled and beat much, much better opposition.
Wilders best win wouldn't even be in Byrds top 3.
If Fury gets in (and he will) then Joshua is a lock because he had a much better heavyweight reign than Fury and beat more decently ranked contenders.
Wilder is the wildcard for me. Long reign but no CV and reputation pretty diminished once he started having to face credible fighters. But he's American. He'll probably go in too.
Usyk isn't even worth talking about. He's in.
Fury likely gets in because he beat a champion with a 9 year reign and 18 defences (#3 most in history) and a 5 year reigning champion who also had joint 5th (with Ali) most defenses in a single reign and the most KOs in a title reign of any significance.
As for AJs resume just like Furys, it relies heavily on Wlad, beyond that it's barren of any real talent.
Parker is the only one who might just go down as a decent fighter that he beat and the only champion who was reigning and successfully defended their belt when he beat him...
Wilder - reference what I said in the Fury take.
Usyk is a lock for first ballot, the rest it's heavily debatable if they even make it, let alone first ballot.
To me Lennox but I'm not going to criticise anyone who has Vitali or Usyk as 1. I think they all have a good claim. I am getting furious about people saying Lennox retired rather than give Vitali a rematch as though he somehow ducked him! Everyone has to retire at one point & imo Lennox got out at the perfect point. Listen to Lennox giving his opinions now & he doesn't slur his words at all. Listen to Evander. listen (if you can) to Rid**** Bowe. You can't demand that a man stays in boxing til he is brain-damaged!
BoxingScene. If you think there is something offensive about the name of a world h/w champion, Ridd1ck Bowe, or a great M/W champion D1ck Tiger then, IMO, you need to send a lot of your site back to school because it is some stup1d BS
