There Is Nothing Left For Usyk in Boxing But Risk..

He’s defeated them all, some several times over, never lost a fight, became undisputed at cruiserweight then heavyweight. All quality opponents the best the divisions had to offer. Whatever you want to say about Joshua, Fury, and Dubois, these 3 were the elite of heavyweight boxing when Usyk fought them….

All that’s left now are no name boxers looking to make a name but they’re not here to stay they’re not going to mark their names in boxing annals as one of the best, the pedigree isn’t there. Zhang, Parker, Kabayel, Bakole… these guys are either too old, have lost several times, or unproven.. what’s the benefit of fighting one of them risking a loss as you’re aging and slowing down only to give them a star on their resume while tarnishing you’re own.

RETIRE USYK… you have achieved more than 99.9% of boxers can ever hope to achieve and now you have enough money for 5 lifetimes.

Those small number of fights are against top competition which are worth far more than many fights against lesser fighters.

The man is going to be 38… he just made over 100 million. What is there left but risk? Is another 20 million going to make his life that much different.

I think he should retire as well, to me he doesn't look as good as he did a few years ago, I could see Bakole giving him issues but I think 4 years ago he would have stood Bakole on his head.

Usyk takes breaks in fights now by necessity, a lot of people are missing it but there's periods now where he becomes flat footed and takes a breather for 45-60 seconds at a time, if he fights on many more times someone is going to take advantage of that eventually.

You’re absolutely right, the internet does love making things up, like you thinking that you actually know the purse better than the those other websites.

There are a bunch of good fights that he could take, but that's what champions do. He still looks sharp and is fit to be able to keep the pace for all 12 rounds. He is still in his prime. I am a fan of boxing, so I don't think he should retire based on emotions. That's what a nuthugging cheerleader would wish. A boxer should continue until he feels that he can no longer do it.

Eh, I see where you're coming from (and in a way, you're not wrong), but think this has more of you, the fan, hating the idea of Usyk losing as he ages.
Usyk seems like he feels he has more to accomplish. Or maybe he wants to make more money. He's entitled to his choice. If he loses in his next fight, I don't have too many issues with it. He's 39, and will have fought the best of his generation at all kinds of disadvantages. Everyone gets older, and nobody stays winning as they approach 40.

As far as actual opponents, I agree with you. Not a lot of ***y names left. Rematch with Dubois? Meh. Kabayel is overrated IMO. Easy, pointless fight. Zhang is OLD. Like..great to see the midget Usyk against a giant like Zhang, but Zhang will be ~42 by then. Parker? Again, meh. Not an exciting fight, and not one that does anything for Usyk.

My choice would be to entice Opetaia to come up. Opetaia has looked excellent against good competition. He's very similar build to Usyk (6'2 vs 6'3, 78 vs 76 in reach), and is 10 years younger. They can sell it as "past vs future" fight or something.

I think he has a few more fights. But he is great and people are really just waiting for him to age out now, the same way some people waited for Mayweather, Canelo, Pacquaio, and Jones Jr. to age out and lose.
