Hatton didn’t hang it up after the Pacquiao fight. He took some time off and then came back in a scrap only to get stopped via body shot by Senchenko…who oddly enough then got stopped by a light-punching Paulie Malignaggi of all people.

But that maybe 3 and half years later. He should have learnt from being in with such great fighters and worked to get better - not give up. Also Pacquio used a "tell" to get the KO. So another reason to have confidence he could do better

That guy he came back against was fairly good and possibly a higher weight. You come back against an easy guy if you are serious about your career. I think Hatton couldn't handle not being the best tbh.
