Comments Thread For: BoxRec vs. Fight Fax is the big record-keeping fight of 2024

Not all fights in boxing take place in the ring. In fact, one of the most-discussed bouts of 2024 in the trade has taken place behind computer screens. It pits the established online boxing record-keeper BoxRec against a newly revived Fight Fax, which dominated the past but had since faded in the modern world.

Does tbrb show weights for each fight in a simple format. With boxrec if you went to a boxer record, you could just click the arrow and it would shows what title if any and would show what the fighters weighed in at, it doesn't show that anymore

Boxrec is great for results from distant locales. Its ratings are pretty bad. Some guys get KFTO brutally (see - Joshua) and fall like 1 spot. Others with less political representation get KFTO and nosedive 10 spots

Nah I prefer Boxrec any day of the week, their rankings are sus indeed but their record keeping and fighter info details is pretty solid thats the main purpose after all.

I'm glad fight fax has come back. Boxrec takes liberties. Before the WBA stuff boxrec already had some questionable records. Outcomes listed with sources that claim a different outcome and such. It's good Fight Fax is around. They'll keep one another in check.

It has been alleged, too, that FightFax.com sc****d the data off BoxRec, down to the photos of fighters used, and that has upset the Englishman.
So that's why they've hidden all useful data for all users behind a login now huh? Pain in the ass...

That is what I used BoxRec for - record keeping and fighter info. I pay no attention to rankings at all. Quite frankly never heard of Fight Fax but in this day and age it is virtually impossible to protect yourself from data scraping and to take someone to court in China, Singapore and enforce penalties etc

Stealing BoxRec’s data? That should be unacceptable.

If you want to compete with them then put in your own work.
